Dungeons Sequel Announced

Kalypso Media USA announces Dungeons - The Dark Lord, the sequel to Dungeons, the bad-guy strategy game in the vein of Dungeon Keeper and Evil Genius. The sequel will include an all-new campaign as well as multiplayer support, which includes the ability to play as some of the game's bosses. Dungeons - The Dark Lord is in development at RealmForge Studios, but does not yet carry a release date. Here's the list of new features:

  • Three multiplayer modes for up to four players: Deathmatch, King of the Hill and Survival
  • Entirely new, fully scripted and voiced single-player campaign
  • New dungeon setting (ice crystal cave) with new graphics, unique prestige gimmicks and a new boss monster
  • Playable bosses in multiplayer modes (Minos, Zombie King, Calypso and Dungeon Lord)
  • Various dungeon graphics sets and inventories are now available
  • New set of skills specifically for multiplayer modes

They only got DK1 didn't they? http://www.gog.com/en/news/new_release_dungeon_keeper

Yeah, but they acquired the EA catalog, so I'm sure DK2 will come eventually. I know they already have titles lined up like Alpha Centauri.

DK2? I *have* that. Don't you mean DK3?

There never was a DK3.

Yeah, it wasn't a great game and certainly didn't live up to the hype of it being "in the vein of Dungeon Keeper" as they advertised it as.

It doesn't sound like the sequel is going to deviate much from the original game either, so I'd advise people to just purchase the classic Dungeon Keeper games from Good Old Games since they just acquired the series (yay!).

I was gonna say... I heard this game didn't do very well at all. I am quite surprised it has a sequel coming.
