It's a given that M&M:H VI will not have always-online DRM. As far as I know UbiSoft has now dropped that system completely and the last game to use it was Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands.
The DRM employed in their most recent PC games: R.U.S.E. - Steamworks DRM Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - 1 time online activation on install
So it's likely to be one of those two systems. |

Bleh, fuck Ubisoft, and forget this franchise. I am sure it will have horrible DRM, even if it doesn't, King's Bounty is a better series now anyway.
Also, fuck every company that tries to entice people to preorder so they can play a BETA !?!? When exactly did this sort of nonsense become acceptable? |

It's the only Ubisoft DRM shitfest I've bought, and I only bought it because I thought it was gone. So same as above, if it has DRM fuck it. Otherwise I will most likely but it since it's Might & Magic. Am I the only gamer where AC2 and Brotherhoods DRM didn't fuck me over and or waste my time?
I will agree it's ridiculous, but It didn't stop my game experience. |

Heroes 2 FTW. I have to agree with that. H2 and H3 were may favorites by far, but H5 was very enjoyable. Still, I'll wait for the reviews before I get this. |

If they announce this game will use steamworks only as DRM then I'll pre-order via amazon so I can try it. Assuming I like it I can even see myself buying this. This and Civ are some of the only PC games I still I'm willing to put up with this kind of thing but it's really frustrating to think that ubi is screwing the game up with their own brand of always on DRM.
Stick with steam DRM, I can begrudgingly live with that. (Assuming the game is awesome, less than awesome and you're on crack)
Edit: Change of plan, pre-order in, when beta comes around I'll hopefully get more info on what madness you're planning. Assuming you're doing they game through steam I'll give it a shot, otherwise pre-order canceled. |

I've been playing Settlers 7 now for a year and have never had a single problem with the persistent online connection.
This is M&M. I am not passing on this no matter what.
And half the people who bitch about the DRM will buy it anyway...
So far I can't find anything out there that says either way what type of DRM it will have, if any. But since its Ubi I'm sure it will have something. |
