Though the plastic tabs to secure them fell off in the first year... LAN hard. |

I have had some of them crack from the plastic getting brittle.....you probably get better speeds and less packet loss with a new or newer cable. The frequencies are so much better in the last few years. |

| aaannnddd done with Witcher 2. I was really hoping for more open world. Act one has a little forest with a semblance of exploration to be had, but act two trims things down and act three is completely linear. Witcher 1 had a lot more "witcher work" to be done. |

| Run the game through Steam. A lot of games support the Steam overlay and screenshots even though they aren't Steam games. |

Doesn't FRAPS allow for screenshots?
It's probably not open source but I thought there was a free/lite version.

Are you running it via Steam? They added that to Steam awhile back. |

What's a good free (preferably open source) software for taking screenshots in games that don't have built in SS capability?
I started playing GTA: IV again, and wanted to take a screenshot of something. I used IrfanView in the past, but for some reason it's not working anymore. I just get a black screenshot whether I use its screen capture utility or pressing print screen and paste. It might be a Windows 7 thing because I think I might have been running XP when I used it before. I tried running it with admin rights, but that didn't work either.
I ended up turning to XFire, since I had it installed, to get the shot. Then I downloaded and tried out a few that I found with a quick search. I found one called Greenshot that looked promising, but I get the same black screenshot as I do with IrfanView. I downloaded the free version of FRAPS for now, but I just want something to take screenshots with. |
