Okay so your problem is then with the AI not with realism.
Funny thing is - make AI more realistic and it's fixed. There ya go, realism makes things better.
If Arma ever got recharging health like all the other games out there I'd probably drive over wherever they are based and see if that tactic also works in real life. |

As it is right now the AI is already damn tough and you die constantly, that has no relevance to me on how complex their vehicles weapons systems should be. The issues I have with the game are not just the realism, it’s the way the stupid AI sees you and kills you in one shot, and they don’t ever seem to miss. Sorry, but in real life no one kills you with one shot; they usually will shot at you missing several times before hitting their target. This is especially true when you are shooting at long range.
This is known as panic fire when in combat situations; in a fire fight soldiers usually will fire blindly at their target hoping to hit them. There really isn’t a whole lot of time to aim towards a target in a wild fire fight. This was a well know fact during Vietnam and how ammo was wasted by soldiers firing blindly and wasting ammo. This is why the M16 only has a three round bust function and full auto was removed. "Ill bet some of you didnt know that" The way the programmers have it now, it’s like every one of their soldiers are snipers without a scope. I don’t consider getting shot and dying once realism.

Oh yea that’s a lot of fun. Not hardly!!! Realism does not work well in games; the AI is not hindered by aiming or always knowing where you are in the game. There is nothing fun about dying constantly because the AI has their magical crystal ball of where the player is at all times. It's a preference. When you take away the artificial tricks to keep a player alive, the player has to compensate with tactics, and must continually refine those tactics when they don't work. Some people relish that challenge. Some don't like it.
Just because it isn't the kind of game you prefer doesn't mean that doesn't work. |

This is the first time that my only hope for a sequel is better performance.
Seriously, if everything were exactly the same, but it worked on medium-spec machines, I'd buy it on launch day |

Right... but when a games main focus is being a realistic infantry sim you kind of need realism. |

| Lets see how badly this one will be and buggy. I never have any faith in their games, I want to like them but they are usually released to early and in such a buggy broken state that its really hard to enjoy their stuff. |
