| There was an omnisexual character in DA:Origins, and you could "explore" every option with him. That didnt make any scandal or deter anyone from playing it... |

While I'm not a homophobe, I almost skipped the wonderful GTA4 Gay Tony expansion because of the name. Yet you still played it, because why let something like a name stand in the way of what is a great game... I wonder if the same thing will happen here?
I think they should be worried about losing players about as much as they should about gaining players because of having gay romance options. Negligible at best. Just like the other romances, its mostly fluff, and while it will be enjoyed by some people in the game, its completely optional and not the focus of the game, and won't detract as to whether or not it is a good game. It's almost like it has no bearing on the matter! |

Can someone please explain to me what all the hullabaloo is about? I was kind of wondering the same thing, especially since every Bioware game in recent memory has allowed for this, but it seems like aside from a couple of people everyone is just talking at length and mostly agreeing that there's not much reason to argue anyway In a market place of ideas, people can spout their bigotry. And bigotry can be opposed by others, even on the Internet on forums like this one. |

Actually,
I think the stir(on Bioware's end anyway) may come from the fact that they stated before that they would not have a male Shepard with same sex options. It was something to do with their vision of the character and how they wanted to direct the narrative.
I can't recall where the interview was with that...but I'm sure something to that effect was said. I think it was comparing the stuff in DA:O to Mass Effect 1 and 2. |

How does the sexuality of a character interfere with the telling of a good story*?
It doesn't. So I learned while reading John Varley's "Ophiuchi Hotline" when I was a kid. |

I don't remember there ever being those types of companions/choices for the player There was plenty of sex to be had in Fallout 2, including (as mentioned above) porn-stardom.
You could also get gay-married in Fallout 2, if you were a girl. |

As a gay gamer never once have I EVER asked for anything 'gay' to be added to anything.
And for the record, I really didn't like Brokeback Mountain either. |

That was easy. To show how irrational your viewpoint is, I substituted the word "gay" for the word "straight". I think my point has been made.

WaltC wrote on May 16, 2011, 17:00: The highly narcissistic "gay" social agenda has completely ruined so many other forms of entertainment--I pray it not be allowed to ruin gaming as well. I favor putting them all back into the closet inside games and lead-lining the doors. The truth is guy, or gal, I don't care if you dig men or you dig women--just stay out of my game! If I want some of that agenda there are plenty of places on the Internet I can go to have my head dunked in that sort of propagandist drivel. I play games for the fun factor--if want lessons in politically correct sexual etiquette circa ~2011 I will certainly look elsewhere. Stay out of my games! Thanks. But it's perfectly okay to have a heterosexual relationship in the game right? And of course it's even better if two hot girls go at it? Am I right?
