Out of the Blue

I recently did a little achievement hunting in Portal 2. One of them involves refusing to solve a puzzle, but there was no indication of how long this refusal would take. I eventually just left my computer on all night, and the next day, the achievement was still not triggered. I eventually figured out what I was doing wrong, but now my time played on the game shows 12 or more hours of zombie time. Oh well, I guess that counts on some level, though I'd prefer if that figure reflected actual play time.

R.I.P.: Sir Lattimore Brown. Thanks nin.

If they remastered ST:DS9 that might actually be enough for me to get off my lazy butt and finally upgrade to HD. Too bad it sounds like they aren't going to...

Heh, I was wondering why you were "playing" portal 2 at 4am when I got home...oh well.

Should be sitting down with a cocktail and LA Noire in a few hours. Have some friends playing it that are having a blast and have nothing but great things to say about it thus far.

Whatchew talkin' 'bout Willis? You got yer copy of LAN already?!?!

Hopes the UPS guy is there before he gets home.

He never shows up early in my neighborhood. I've had stuff show up as late as 7 or 8.

You know that scene of Doc in Back to the Future? "Damn! Damn Damn!"? That'll be me tomorrow night, pacing around, waiting on the truck.

You fuckers and your L.A. Noire talk got me into my car to drive up to the store like it was 1999 only to be told that it doesn't release until tomorrow.

Actually under 5 hours, if you find a place open at midnight...

I'd at most be able to get in 2 hours in before zombie mode would engage at work.
2 hours ain't enough.

I'll play it at 6:15pm tomorrow

Yeah, I'm looking forward to watching DS9, as I missed that one when it aired.

Scroll down here and read about the TNG remastered - it's just a rumor, be speculation is we might see it on netflix first:

I would so love for Netflix to get all the Star Treks.

Starts in June or July, doesn't it?

Hot damn. I looked it up. Yes! DS9 does not come until October, but that is ok.

I too have given up but love SciFi.

Just recently got Walking Dead season 1 and watched it on DVD. Can not wait for season 2 this fall. Will DVR it.

I honestly only check stuff out on DVD or Netflix anymore.
I would much rather go watch B5, Firefly, Farscape (a fucking fantastic SciFi show), or some Stargate or Star Trek again.

I would so love for Netflix to get all the Star Treks.

And honestly, if my internet does get capped I will probably just drop cable and get a second internet account and to have more streaming if I need it. It would still be cheaper then the cable and I would use it a hell of a lot more.

Ok, I gotta ask... is that some sort of politically correct version of "Tango Uniform" (Tits Up) or did you just have a brain fart?

We generally say ass over tit.

Haha, all the same over here in Australia. Though I have noticed in a few shows they think we say "up ya bum", which honest to god, I have never heard before until I saw an "Australian" saying it on a American TV show.

Also, ass up generally suggests face planting, while tits up means you fell on your ass =D Unless, you're American and it's your... Fanny?

To be fair, Stargate Universe and Battlestar Galactica weren't Network TV. They were cable TV, a different animal. And Dexter is premium cable.

Sorry - I should have said 'TV serials' I guess. 'Network TV' doesn't cover all of the bases for sure.

There are a few sci fi shows coming out, though nothing from the StarGate or StarTrek franchises and I don't think anything in space.

There's that new TNT series "Falling Skies" coming out soon, with aliens invading Earth and the humans trying to fight back. Noah Wyle stars, I guess it's kind of a long drawn-out War of the Worlds type of thing.

There's that new Steven Spielberg series "Terra Nova" about people from out future setting up a colony in the past (Dinosaur era).

"Eureka" and "Warehouse 13" are coming back soon.

A couple of super-hero shows are coming up: "Alphas" and "Three Inches" that are similar to Heroes / X-Men / the series of Painkiller Jain / etc. If you consider them sci fi.

But have no fear, SyFy still has Face Off, Marcel's Quantum Kitchen, and loads of wrestling. What's not to li... wait WTF?

"Space. It seems to go on and on forever. But then you get to the end and a gorilla starts throwing barrels at you."
