The chip in the original Xbox was an NV2A architecture, not the NV20 of the GeForce3. It technically had more in common architecturally with the GeForce4 than the GeForce3. (Considering that the GeForce4 didn't come out until a few months after the Xbox, that was quite the accomplishment.)
