Is May 1st the 3rd book? The frist two were great. Just always have to wait for them to be translated from Polish. |

Really, the graphics look pretty terrible by today's standards... the materials have no detail. It's like they just discovered bump and specular mapping. Kind of reminds me of the original Far Cry's graphical level.
BUT, the gameplay looks fun.. apart from the monster truck (although the RC monster truck section is probably great) |

Yeah, I dunno.
Some things I've seen have me pretty interested.
But then you get things like the stadium fight identical to (including the ending) the shareware boss fight I did a few billion times, the monster truck, the stupid 90s "tee-hee" sensibilities, and it adds up to something I don't know about. Plus Duke's voice sounds kinda weak. I think, in my head, it was always deeper and I assumed it was poor sound capabilities, but it sounds the same now and sounds less like a deep voice and more like a guy trying to have a deep voice.
But some of the action has looked really sweet. And, honestly, tripmines. Tripmines. Holy hell tripmines. |

Some parts look OK, but for others, especially the larger outdoor areas, it looks like they just slapped some reference textures on and called it a day; there's a distinct lack of detail and polish that makes it look not quite ready, or even worse, amateurish.
Oh well, if they at least get the damn thing released I'd give them some slack for it-then maybe we can get some more good Duke games maybe? |
