Honestly I have to believe nobody cares about retail dates that much anymore. They're ALWAYS broken in one way or another. You can't really make a prediction for something that's already been announced and think that it's right. With the way time zones work you can twist announcement dates one way or another.
If... IF all the games hit max right now the game would be release 11pm east coast. And you know what, nobody would care except they got the game EARLIER then first announced.
You say they are always broken, but--as I've talked about in this thread already--with steam titles, valve can control the exact SECOND a PC game is unlocked, even if someone procures the game days ahead of time at retail they are not able to play it until that second. They've done this since HL2. Valve also leaves out a few crucial files from the retail copies so that even if pirate gets ahold of the game early, they can't crack the games protection before the release.
As for the time zones, there's only 3 hours difference from west and east coast. Thats not much of a "twist" factor available.
4 days ago, when this all started, if you did a survey of how much early is early release, how many people do you think would have said "oh just a few hours, not even a day earlier"? Pretty sure at least 90% would have said "1 or more days early is what valve means by early release"
