Get Your Name in BioShock Infinite

Irrational Games is offering the chance to get your name in BioShock Infinite, the upcoming third installment in the BioShock series of first-person shooters. Here's word:
With our new game we also want to pay tribute to our community. That’s why we’re giving one of you the chance to become immortalized within the world of Columbia! You could end up as the namesake of a building, a character, a business–whatever our artists come up with. It’s the ultimate bragging rights.

Yeah, i think the second was just milking the name and artwork portfolio. Nothing creative there. Could have been a DLC or even an expansion..

Actually, the second one still had good story, good art, good atmosphere and good gameplay. Was any of it necessary? No. Was the gameplay new or unique? No.

But the story was surprisingly good, the game as a whole had some very nice touches and I found myself enjoying it much more than expected.

Bioshock's novelty was mostly based on the Art Deco design, which is rarely used in video games. The gameplay itself was nothing special and already a dumbed down version of former System Shock games. Yes, it was entertaining, but so is a "Transformers" movie, when you dont expect much.
The first one had a reasonably good story, and indeed good art and atmosphere. It was not up to System Shock of course, but still a good game, with even some good gameplay ideas (the little sisters). The same cannot be said of what has come next...

Erm ... wasn't the brand "Bioshock" from the start nothing more than a "subpar crap aimed at mass market"?

Funny how a brand name can fall. This name used to mean "awesome". Now it means "subpar crap aimed at mass market". Any hint of news concerning the first game was relayed massively with a lot of hype amongst gamers. Now, no one will pay attention...

They'd have to pay me for my name to be in this "thing". And I don't mean peanuts.

All you have to do is make a 5 minute youtube Ad for us and have it get big and viral and after you have done enough free advertising then ONE of our artists will decided whether to make your name on a random plauqe.

What is it with prequel material where the technology is bounds ahead of the last game which is supposed to be in the future.
