I'm pretty sure, when they set the price, they expected to sell more than one copy.

So you're saying they should sell it for a cent or give it away or pay you to play it? The price was about right IMHO. It wasn't horse armour.
Anyway, I just finished it. A pleasant evenings entertainment although the combat is a bit samey - mostly grind for the next Syd Mead style set piece and plot. The asteroid base was rather stunning, probably worth the price of admission.

So... months of hard work by 50 or so people isn't worth the price of a couple of beers? People have some f**ked up ideas of 'worth'.

If you didn't enjoy it then sure, why not? Do you measure every purchase by how many coffees it is? I'd hate to be the guy selling you a TV The consumer can't reasonably be expected to care about the work that goes on behind the scenes, they aren't party to it nor do they have much of a say in it. Personally I think $7 for an hour of entertainment isn't unreasonable but I enjoyed it. In the end we derive value from how much enjoy games and how long we play them, *shrug*.

Took me 75 minutes on Veteran, and I thought I was dawdling. Haven't tried it with my other character yet, but it would be longer on insanity for sure; I've heard at least 90 minutes from other people. I don't mind the price.

One thing I've been thinking about though (spoilers):
The Doc (Amanda whatsherface) states that if you blow up the Mass Effect gate, the Reapers will still arrive in the system, but then have to FTL their way to the next system. They won't be able to use the gates to get to wherever they want to go, and so by doing so you'll be able to delay them for months or years.

However, at the end of ME2, you see the Reapers moving towards the Milky Way. Off hand, they seem to be pretty damn far away, as the Milky Way is quite small in the vision you see. So... what, 20, 30000 lightyears or so? And yet they apparently get to the Milky Way in the space of a few years at most, since they wouldn't have just flown there under their own power until Saren's plan in ME1 failed.)

So if they can fly 30K lightyears in a few years, somehow I doubt that blowing up that particular gate is really going to delay them all that much... Seemed a bit of a weak contrivance to force you to blow up the gate.

There's something weird going on.

If the vision at the end of ME2 was chronologically (and spatially) correct and they *just* started heading to the Milky Way, there's something very wrong. They were initially going to jump straight to the Citadel Relay too, which backs up their not having super-awesome FTL technology.

Considering that Arrival puts them at hours out (and I assume it can be started before the suicide mission, so the reapers could well be in the galaxy by the time you see that vision), I'd think it wasn't chronologically correct, and they started out around when ME1 ended. That's still only what, 2 years? And they look to be at least as far away from the disc as it is long (depends on how the camera is set up, it's hard to tell), so it can't take them more than a few months to get to the next mass relay. Sounds faster than any other FTL tech in the game, but not so fast that getting around without mass relays is super practical (especially if they want to jump on the galaxy before it can respond)

If the video was spatially and chronologically incorrect though, who knows?

45 min tops on hard. No where near worth 7$. 3$ is more like it.

Took me 95 minutes on normal... played it again with my insanity character and it took about the same.

Overall it was alright, nowhere near as good as Shadowbroker or Overlord though.

I'm sick of waiting for a GOTY/ultimate edition of this game. I'm going to go watch the let's play video's on Youtube and be done with this. Did that for Dead Space 2's dlc and really enjoyed that. I think I'd rather watch someone else play these DLC's than play them myself at this point.

I liked it well enough. It is a bit short (took me about 2.5 hours on Insanity), I'd have liked to have seen an extra level in it, but the three levels are very involved and feature quite a few really cool set pieces.

Plus I liked the story quite a bit. It's suitably epic, and has an excellent final battle (even if it is frustratingly difficult.) I think it's well worth 7 bucks.

Just finished this. I'd place it somewhere on par with Kasumi for the actual mission, though this doesn't give you a new character. It's also extremely short, just as expected. I didn't time my playthrough, but I'd guesstimate it was almost two hours or so. If you're picking the game up again just for the sake of playing this mission, you'll barely have time to get back in the Mass Effect mood before it's all over. It might be better if you do it directly after the suicide mission, but even then I suspect it's going to feel like a somewhat amputated experience.

Still, as a Mass Effect fan I found it quite enjoyable, but for most people, I'd recomment simply watching a walkthrough on Youtube for the story bits...

Oh, and without spoiling anything, a few of the forum-theories from when the achievements "leaked" were better than the actual story
