Fatguy, there are organised pvp battles most weekends. Due to the small playerbase you can't just drop in and play that kind of thing, you kind of have to arrange times beforehand.

Personally, I like coop when there's strong cooperation with voice chat. The real draw of Arma for me is pulling off a plan with other people. You don't get the same feeling in any other game.

You don't like to argue, you say, yet you keep coming into these ArmA threads to lambast us for liking it. Ironicly, it's usually a patch news article...

Sorry you couldn't get it running to enjoyable state, obviously we can. So, are we done?

Beaver, youíre just like Verno, your making an assumption ok. Heres a clue back: first off I own it on Steam, so itís ALWAYS up-to-date with steam. Two years past? Dude, we just tried playing this game about 2 months ago with all the issues I outlined.

Persoanally I dont like to argue with people, but Verno pissed me off to no end.

Dude, what you said are exactly the bugs that have been fixed LONG ago. Stop making an absolute jerk out of yourself. Buy OA, enjoy it or just STFU and play your console crap.

Have you heard about updating your drivers and software? I hear that works wonders.

Maybe you just need to use your part-time Bestbuy job related knowledge to re-install Windows and stop blaming your problems on the game Angel

Do all the multiplayer servers still consist of almost nothing but coop? I uninstalled because I dislike coop and could almost never find a pvp server.

Multiplayer pvp was the reason i bought the game. There was a very small amount of servers near launch that had a domination type gameplay, I never had so much fun in online MP and I been playing online since quake 1, but those servers seemed to have died out. Last I looked there was either all coop servers and maybe a small handful of versus servers that have 5 actual players and a bunch of AI, bah.

Im not going to argue with you, youve shown enough times that theres no point in that, instead Ill give you a friendly clue: Patch your game and dont base your "facts" on things that are almost 2 years past.
Youre just showing your ignorance.

@Muscular Beaver,

First off what I said about this game is all true, there wasnít one thing I said about the game that isnít true. Dispute me if Iím wrong and prove it to me about the missions, the devs and their buggy releases and their lack of fixing the primary issues that need fixing. I really wanted to like this game, myself and a few of my friends that are all Marines have said the same thing, this game is far from realistic.

Many of the missions are buggy as hell, and Iíll give you some facts, one of the missions I believe the third or fourth one in after to escort the convoy in you help a bunch of villagers. They tell you about an insurgent came thatís nearby. So we go over there, fight, my friend dies. Tries to respawn in and heís stuck in the Hummer. Canít move, canít get out. So he disconnects and respawns back in same results. Had to restart the entire mission over from a later check point.

Later we had the mission where we attacked an encampment. We were just dropped off in a helo at the top of the hill. I was dropped off as a sniper he was spawned in miles away to do other task. Seriously, why? This is Coop and the point of playing coop is to do missions together. This totally defeated the point of the mission.

Also in this mission, you have to secure a mine, there no warning about disabling the bomb you just get a verbal to hurry up. 20 to 30 seconds later it goes off ending the mission. We tried this part several times and finally said screw this shit and quit playing the game altogether. The missions are not optimized, and I have serious doubts they did any good QAing of this game. Bohemia has a reputation for releasing games in a rushed state and them being very buggy as hell. Itís frustrating to say the least about this game. I love military shooters. I spent 11 years in the Marines. But I just could not play this game because of all the issues it presented. We have tried playing the missions a few times over but it was always the same issue with the missions.

This all fact, nothing made up this is what happened. And Iíve read the forums post about this game itís plastered with all kinds of complaints about the issues in the game and the broken scripts.

this game is awesome, one of the most fullfiling multiplayer experiences I've had, missions may take a while to get to their culprit, but oh boy, when it gets tense, it's unbelievable.
Also, I have to mention that I haven't had any noticable bugs myself, so... following the logic of some of the posters here, everyone else who says that has them just doesn't care about the poor developers. Also worth mentioning that I started playing well after it was released, so it was pretty patched up already

Dont mind Darks, I dont know where he came from but he posts his bullshit everywhere lately.

Im also still playing it. It has its flaws, but if anyone remembers real PC gaming, that was nothing unusual at all. The fun ist still overwhelming. I played domination for a long time, but now Im playing warfare, which is just pure fun. I hope they are doing another expansion pack this year.
And Bohemias support is just awesome. They are such a small developer and still care so much for their playerbase. When all other corporation publishers and developers are releasing crappy console ports after console ports, Bohemia will still be the light in the tunnel and the one and only game I will still upgrade my PC for.

This is one awesome video too:

Check out that guy's youtube channel for some ArmA gameplay. He uses the TrackIR motion control also. Some of the gameplay stuff he's done is pretty awesome. His piloting skills are by far the most impressive though.

Funny, just played some ARMA II this weekend with the ACE Mod...Man this game rocks! I wish more developers would take a more "realism" approach to games. Maybe not to the extent of ARMA but more realism is always welcome. Imagine how much better a COD "type" game would be with better bullet physics, only iron sights, weapon weight & ammo variables...etc, etc.

And you guys praise this game, look at the patch notes and read them. About the worst worded patch notes Iíve ever read.

Still no stability patch, or fixed scripts for a lot of the missions that are broken. Who was it the other day that was laughing and hoping ARMA 3 and 4 come out that would be bug free? Right, I have never once seen one of their releases to date that wasnít released before the game was ready. These guys release their games in a broken state, and patch and bug fix it as they go.

I really wanted to like this game, but it was so buggy that it made it impossible to like. Coop was shit, letís break up the human players and place them on different fire teamís miles away from each other on different objectives. Totally defeated the purpose of people wanting to play together.
