Assassin's Creed Brotherhood Patch

The first patch is now available for the Windows edition of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, updating Ubisoft's action/stealth sequel to version 1.01. The game is due in North America next week and in Europe tomorrow, though this forum thread indicates some folks are playing the game already. The new version should be available automatically through the game's internal update function, but there are also manual versions of the patch for download on AtomicGamer, Gamer's Hell, Strategy Informer, The Patches Scrolls, and WorthPlaying. The change list follows, outlining a few single-player and multiplayer changes.

Single Player

  • Fixes an issue that prevents the player from accessing the DaVinci Disappearance DLC under certain circumstances.
  • Fixes 2 random crashes.
  • Fixes an infinite loading problem in the game menu.

Multiplayer

  • Fixes a bug where a player may not appear on radar in Assassinate game mode.
  • Fixes a bug where the player may get stuck in a white screen in certain conditions.

I imagine it will take a patch to remove the Uplay login requirement for all those games... a patch Ubisoft probably will never want to pay money to create.

One time activation for offline play, basically like most games these days.
Wish they would do that for AC2. Their servers fucked up last week and people could not play for 2 days.
Brotherhood DRM scheme was exported to AC2 also. Now AC2 needs online One time activation for offline play. Please correct me if im wrong
You are. AC2 still requires you to login every time you launch the game.

You just do not need to be online after that.

Well shit... the fools across the pond got something before we did.

At least I got it on Steam... people reporting that they oversold the special editions and people with preorders from LAST YEAR are getting canceled.

My memory is failing. Was there a final word on the DRM? Install-time check only?

edit: nm, I decided not to be lazy. Seems it's "just" an install check.

Last night I discovered a band called Trifonic created some of the music for Assassin's Creed 2. Here's one of their tracks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B39pupeGEgs

Mind-numbingly awesome Thumbsup

I think Pandora has thrown that onto my playlist a few times. I agree - it's freaking great.

I thought the game had a check so you could not launch it before the release date?
