Im not sure what you consider "realistic", but the dialogue is certainly better than the majority of the games out there. And referring it to "blockbuster movie style"...Blockbuster movies are NOT thought of for their dialogue. Linear storyline maps...yep, this was already known before the game shipped, but again not much different from the majority of other shooters out these days.
When I say realistic - I mean does this game draw me in and make me believe in the world. It doesn't the characters are dressed like comic book - I was hoping that the entire scope of the game would draw you in and say - this is a really bad world you're living in - and we're all fighting for our lives - instead it's a comic book romp - that doesn't really deliver suspension of belief. The game just doesn't work for me because I had high hopes to experience an occupied US. It's playable but its design isn't what I hoped it would be - And I do think people were expecting an experience and not just a common shooter.

There are options for that, allowing the user to turn them all off or select which ones to keep...nullifying any complaint here.
I feel as if you're justifying bad game design or at least old school design. This is all about presentation. I'll take a look at the options - but it's not going to escape the fact that "E" is an interactive button to do things like climb a ladder - go down a hole - etc. It's silly but again I was expecting an experience not a common shooter...
Agreed, it's a complaint...but it's also a problem in the majority of games out there these days, and until devs put more effort into AI development, it's not going to change. As a gamer, we've dealt with shoddy AI for 25 years, you work around it. For me, unless it's horrendously bad it's not worth complaining about.
Complaining - you like to use that word against my comments - I'm saying these are the issues I have with the game - Complaining would mean by doing so - I might get some resolve of them being fixed - I'm pointing out issues that people might want to know before they slap down money - as I did expecting a modern day shooter to deliver an experience of an occupied america and a solid grasp of what is required to sustain a suspension of belief.
Irritates 'you'. Not me. It's not a bad game by any stretch. If you bought the game solely for SP and never to play MP, then maybe you wasted money, that's a buyers problem for not being aware. There have been dozens of games I've passed on simply because I know I won't play the MP and dont want to pay $50 to $60 for 5 hrs of SP. This is up to the buyer to not be ignorant with their purchase.
Okay so let me get this - you give your thoughts on the game - I make a few comments not directed at you - but to give contrast - and then you imply that because I'm disappointed I slapped down my money hoping for a great game and express why - you're indirectly saying I made an ignorant purchase.
To be clear I purchased this for both SP and MP both of which fall short of current AAA shooters. And yes that is opinion but I'm allowed to post that right?
Lean would have been nice, but not really needed, I was shocked there was even Prone. Controls aren't sluggish at all. If you don't find it smooth, then there is something else going on there, with your settings or hardware. Mouse movement is clean on my machine (like a PC game should), I can jump over things I should be able to jump over, crouch under things...etc...whereas Bulletstorm had none of these things.
I'm comparing it to Black Ops which has always been a very smooth game - design wise that is - Bad company 2 - I don't like the design of the controls much but it "Feels" better to me than Homefront. When I say sluggish i mean the feel of the game - it's not my machine - it's the design - i'm sure you'll tell me I'm wrong - I think I understand how you handle other people thoughts...
I really doubt Snipers will be the loadout of choice, there are too many other excellent combos available. And the "setting" is a matter of opinion. I'm tired of the middle-east, lets kill random terrorists, setting in the majority of recent games. So urban landscapes, and civilians vs. the Korean Army suits me for a change of pace.
The setting is cool - I'm just saying i'm a crappy sniper and this game makes me play like a sniper god - okay so maybe it won't be a standard loadout - but i'm saying the gameplay feels a bit off - let me guess I'm wrong again - my thoughts are not valid etc. I gotcha buddy - you're right.
