Damn Hoop, missed that you were in the middle of all that (and read through your post history). I remember going up with a youth group back after the San Fran Earthquake, but what you folks faced is quite disturbing.
Thought and prayers with you/family/loved ones/anyone effected by it. |

| Was in downtown Detroit today to go to the family's favorite restaurant Slow's Bar B Q. We had a 2 hour wait so we went down the street to an Irish pub. It was the first time I went into an "Irish" pub where all the patrons were actually Irish! But I guess at 2pm the only guys in there drinking would have to be Irish huh? |

That is interesting Blue, as I thought the same thing when I heard all the commercials this last week on the radio here in Southern California.
Another Hallmark day marketing the heck out of to pull in as much money as possible.
So, while we're on the subject; Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!!

| It's not even watching too many horror movies. Those people have been watching The Ring once too often. |

Played a few levels of Dead Space 2 now that my hand is starting to heal, although my broken little finger is still freak'n sore. Not far in but I'm really enjoying the old school feel, I thought it might just be a 3rd person Doom3 with more loadout choice but the atmosphere kind of reminds me of Unreal. The necromorph animations are a little awkward & combat can be clunky but this is helped immeasurably by the key remaping patch. Getting better at using Stasis & Kinesis would also help as they enhance the gameplay just as bullet time did in Max Payne, voice acting, story & sound effects are all top notch.
Quick update on the stituation with me. The town is still down for the count, the cbd is a no go zone two weeks in with no bussiness being done. Basic infrastructure is the priority with most people back to full amenities, thankfully it's summer but I really feel for those still without power, water or both. There is a community spirit & resolve here which is all we are running on, that & help from the rest of the country & around the world.
btw I got a chuckle from watching the "First-person shooter trial" link. |
