If Acti releases another game without changing the formula the sales are going to be less than BO. Publishers have no reason to change until sales actually start decreasing. If the next CoD only sells 1 million units, you can expect Activision to try something new with the following game. |

Even better, those in power wouldn't be in power if the other people (those NOT in power) had no greed.
Exploitation requires that someone lets himself be exploited.

Reading Totilo's summary (Kotaku) of the press demo they were allowed to see, it looks like EA is using BF3 as another chess piece to emulate the CoD style rather than focusing exclusively on multiplayer. This isn't exactly good news.
Do these suits understand if they simply allow the developer to create something of quality that they can pull in similar numbers by creativity rather than trying to copy whats already there? CoD has peaked. If Acti releases another game without changing the formula the sales are going to be less than BO. |

odd topic for that last dozen posts or so...
As for the BF3 clip...the first part, before combat, looked very scripted which reminded me a lot of CoD. Animations of the soldiers running was nice but I didn't get the feeling that what I was watching was a game, more like a cut scene.
Then when combat started up the action looked a lot like BFBC2. Little puffs of smoke, many of the same sound effects. I hope this is not BFBC2 with better maps. I'd still buy that but I have higher hopes for BF3.
I look forward to MP combat video clips. |

Hehe, very nicely said.. maybe i should be less lazy with putting 4 "shout out facts" together and calling it a post.. but meh
Usually one could think that knowing what you just said would mean theres ways to prevent the imminent collapse, but thats not how the world works. This world walks head long into absolute certain doom. "More more more" is not a mantra that will be sustainable forever. But the nations just now booming won't want to hear any of that.
Anyway, i agree that humanity is the problem. But see it like this, you can't change the goal so make the best of your life until you reach it. Though if you are young now you might want to rethink investing in pension funds.
I think we spread enough doom and gloom now. How did this even come up in a BF3 topic? |

money is a symbol for representing value which is based on speculative considerations and fluctuations of market consistency, its a technology and is completely morally inert - much like a hammer and some nails ... however when humanity gets their hands on anything which has potential for exploitation, they tend to push it to the limit until that limit breaks and they fall to their ruin
money is not the problem, religion is not the problem, america is not the problem
humanity is the problem

Food is a scarce and limited currency and good luck applying Interest to Food.

Currency is indeed an invention, used at first to simplify trade since the way of making trade until currency's invention was through direct product trade. It has taken a whole new dimension ever since it was invented though.
To sum it up: Money itself is of no worth compared to the value a money bill represents. Money is what a market perceives as a bargain weight to purchase a good.
EDIT: Nice footage, what I really want is MP footage though. |

Took the words out of my mouth. The things that animals fight over are typically life saving things/objects such as food/water/shelter. Animals don't kill over "toys" and domesticated animals don't either.
So I stand by my statement that currency is by far the most evil thing man has created. Nothing else uses it but us, it's belief is purely an illusion, and it is older than religion: Another man made creation. More or less only humans kill on this scale, anyway.
You're missing the point: can you honestly say to me that without currency we'd kill less. Do you really think we would be at peace with the middle east without currency? Do you think there'd be no wars for oil or for diamonds? Do you think these things only have value due to the invention of currency?
Also, if we had never invented currency do you think technology would be as far along as it currently is? This is an ancillary question, really a hypothetical, but to think that we'd have no evil in the world without currency, or even less evil, seems completely retarded. As if it's solely because of pieces of paper with george washington on it that we bomb places.
Fuck, man, most wars have been fought over land, not currency. |

What did I just surf into? I thought we were arguing about Battlefield 3 being a Call of Duty clone(its not for the record) but apparently it's turned into a money morality debate. |
