Steam Screenshots Live

A new automatic Steam client update is now available, and, as noted here, in the new version the Steam screenshots feature is now out of beta and available to all. Here's word:

Steam just made it easier to take and share screenshots of your favorite games.

Press your hotkey (F12 by default) while in any game that runs the Steam Overlay to take screenshots. Then publish them to your Steam Community profile as well as Facebook, Twitter, or Reddit to share them with your friends.

With 1GB of personal Steam Cloud storage, you can upload thousands of screenshots to show off your best moments for all your friends to see. Or you can make them private if you'd rather keep them to yourself.

So does this let you directly embed in forums without the hassle of data caps? I've been using a photobucket account myself for years but I'd be open to something better.
Since it has social integration I'm guessing you could copy/paste the url and be fine. If all else fails you could try Xfire.

It's also the SysRq key, which has it's uses in Linux systems. Not that that's relevant here or anything.

Finally I can hit F12 instead of Print Screen.
Eh? I would rather it be print screen because well... its a PRINT SCREEN key.

Well, in DOS at least, that key dumped the text mode screen to LPT1 (printer port) but I could see your reasoning if it was named the "screenshot" key.

This ranks up there with games not using the pause key to, you know, PAUSE.

I've been using it a bit over the last week or two and really like it. You don't have to dig around to find where a particular game saves its screenshots, or fiddle with keybinds, and you can take shots of things that the game itself probably wouldn't let you like loading screens. I guess Fraps does the same but you'll have to remember to launch it and still need to upload things somewhere. Very nice feature.
