| Yep they are short, few minutes only. At least the ones I've played last night were around 5 minutes or so. I can imagine some games can be drawn out for longer if some people likes to hide I guess. |

It gets better with time and as you figure out the controls and places to snipe from on maps. OK and thanks. I hope the games are short since I don't have time to play games these days. I just play a lot of short Flash games these days. Haha. |

It is free right now so I guess there is nothing to loose to try it. The tanks do feel different from one another and the weapon upgrades do make a difference but as a new player I am getting destroyed a lot so I am just following the rest of my team mates and try to find hiding spots to ambush the enemy. Be sure to watch those tutorial videos first that was posted below, they do help a lot. |

I think it's a great game. As long as you don't expect FPS tactics to work, you'll do well. Actual tank tactics and teamwork work, with everyone playing their roles.
I suggest you ignore the 1v1 "Tutorial" matches and jump right into the multiplayer. Usually on the 1v1 matches, you face experienced players with better tanks and just get ganked - no fun at all and it turns off most people. To get a real feel for the game, you've got to play the normal matches. When you die (quickly) watch what the surviving tanks are doing and learn to play that way.
The best tank to start out with is the American one, mostly because the next tank you get (the M2) is a very fast and fun tank to play. Also, if you hide in bushes, you're practically invisible and can set up ambushes - an easy way to get early experience. |

| oh they're tanks, and they live a game that closely resembled a crack delivery service. simple controls, but they're all very detailed and hisorically accurate reproductions of prototype and mass produced ww2 tanks. |

| I've tried it a little while back and I got into a MP game 1vs1 needless to say how that ended up for me. I am willing to give it another try though because it looks interesting, especially if I can find a game that is not 1 vs 1. |

Yup, drop everything and play this game. Besides, it's free!
On youtube, check out the World of Tanks Tutorial videos (part 1, 2 and now 3) for a great look at the game. |

It's fun game, worth try. As was said, it's not really a typical MMO, you get experiences and credits for each battle, you invest experiences and into your tank development and credits for buying new equipment and better tanks, also your tank crew gains experience and evolve - that's where the similarity with MMO ends. Rest of it mathmaking and battles - which are combination of team deathmatch and capture the (enemy) base modes.
Best way to find out what is this game about is watch these three tutorial videos: Part 1, Part 2, Part 3
If you want to try the game, then when you register it via GamersGate, you will get one premium tank for free.

FFS its not a MMO. Its a Match Making game.
Might as well call every game that has a game lobby a MMO from now..sc2 and BFBC2 also has thousands of players waiting for games at any given time. |
