Ships Ahoy - DCS- A-10C Warthog

The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics announce the release of DCS- A-10C Warthog, adding a new aircraft to the DCS series as a follow-up to DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark. Their DCS- A-10C Warthog Section offers screenshots and loads of information about the game, as well as online purchases. Here's a bit on the game:

"DCS: A-10C Warthog" is a PC simulation of the U.S. premier Close Air Support attack aircraft. This is the second aircraft in the DCS series, following DCS: Black Shark, and raises the bar even higher in the DCS series. Warthog brings the most realistic PC simulation of a modern fixed wing combat aircraft in regards to flight dynamics, avionics, sensors, and weapon systems. You also have the option to play Warthog in "Game" mode for a casual game experience. Fly missions in the Caucuses region of the Black Sea against and with a wide array of air, land and sea forces with new and improved intelligence. Create your own missions and campaigns with the included Mission and Campaign Editors, and fly with and against friends online using the included online game browser.

As for the video trailer, that was made by Glowing Amraam - a stellar video maker - excellent reputation

Played it in Beta and will be playing it for the next few years.
Just the instant missions so far - the cannon is easy to get things to blow-up. Getting missiles to work is tougher except in Game Mode.
Start-up can be automated with LWIN-HOME - then it clicks through the start-up routine

Like all sims, the more you learn the better it is. This is a leap forward in fidelity - The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics did contract work for the Defence Dept with access to real data and pilots. They created a simulator used by the Air National Guard - and this is its commercial version. Only the classified stuff is missing.

Campaigns are semi-dynamic - various results will lead to different missions as scripted - variety in esch mission is poossible - the mission designer can use random variables and flags

There is a separate icon for the A-10 Multiplayer - it has a in-game browser. Don`t know if they are going to patch in the older Flaming Cliffs that will allow you to fly some older fast-movers. But Black Shark helio pilots should be patched in later to fly on the same servers.

Word is they are talking to Steam but nothing settled.

First Impressions Thread by people who are flying it
