Crytek Responds to Crysis 2 Leak

The Crysis 2 Blog has an official reaction from Crytek to news that a pre-gold build of their upcoming shooter sequel Crysis 2 has leaked onto torrent sites:

Crytek has been alerted that an early incomplete, unfinished build of Crysis 2 has appeared on Torrent sites. Crytek and EA are deeply disappointed by the news. We encourage fans to support the game and the development team by waiting and purchasing the final, polished game on March 22. Crysis 2 is still in development and promises to be the ultimate action blockbuster as the series’ signature Nanosuit lets you be the weapon as you defend NYC from an alien invasion. Piracy continues to damage the PC packaged goods market and the PC development community.

How about you try to figure out which of your OWN people released an incomplete build, Yerli, you fucking asshat?

Piracy is the way it is because game companies charge 50-60$ for unfinished products. They release their pile of junk and when it doesn't work, they figure we'll just move onto something else. Why should they care? They already have our money by then. I for one am tired of spending several days to get the games to run properly on my more than adequate machines. I have literally hundreds of PC games that I have purchased and at least half of them did not work properly upon release and half of those were never fixed with patches.
I do feel bad when devs make a solid game and they get robbed by pirates, but I am also sympathetic to the pirates who have been robbed by these same devs in the past. If games were back at the 30$ price like they were 10-13 years ago, I would buy them more often. At 60$ a pop though, we're taking a big risk because we don't know if the game is even finished. Most games these days are junk and I can't afford to buy 5 different games in order to find the one that actually works as advertised.

For all you console fanboys, your systems are junk and your games look like watered-down poop.

Crytek will owe the pirates for all the major sales increase they have gained from this leak PR mess.

Serious, forums are a'light with positive buzz all over the place about this game. Only negative thing I'm reading is the low 55 FOV which supposedly can be changed.

Nice PR move pirates!!! Kudos!
I've heard very good things about the performance too, which is a nice change for a Crytek game. Probably a side-effect of targeting the consoles (though the 360 multiplayer beta/demo doesn't even seem to be running at 720p).

Way to go off topic here.

This is about a game that was leaked from/by an internal person. Not some pirate yanking it from the duplication line or the like.

Take your rants somewhere else.
And thereafter it was redistributed and downloaded solely by... internal persons?

I can see why so many companies are pulling out of the PC market with people like you constantly defending the moochers/pirates. You must feel real big in your grandma's basement mocking this company for having an early build leaked. You know most of the time these leaks don't happen internally, it happens from: press, demo machines, external QA, DVD manufacturers, and others. Besides how could you stop a disgruntles employee (or QA?) from nabbing a build?

I have no sympathy for you trolls and it is because of people like you that the PC games market is so dry compared to consoles.

Wow, I guess you just summed it up all right there dude <sarcasm> .

I agree with your 'third' sentence to a point, but Fn' A dude, Crytek does have to take some ownership here and not immediately blame the PC Gamers. I have Purchased EVERY game I play/played from Wolfenstein 3D on. Oooops, aging myself here....DOH!

Yup, people at Crytek have families to feed. Would you guys like someone taking your work and stealing it? Turn it around. I knew someone(this could be me) that used to courier for some of the top warez groups. Then it hit me (or this person I knew). Software IS someone's work. People taking the time out to make a better game, apps, etc...Yes, they make businesses and want to make money, who doesn't want to make money? With that said, grow up and make the right decisions.
If you were right, I would be agreeing with you.

I guess everyone is offended that someone insulted their god-given right to get whatever software they want for free. Christ, why the hell would anyone try to make a game if everyone's attitude is that you deserve to be fucked over? Why is it so fucking horrible for them to humbly request that you don't pirate the leaked version? You're more like leeches than people.

I'm still a bit sore at Crytek over the original Crysis. Remember when they were about to release a patch for it (I believe it was 1.3, 1.2.1 hotfix had just been released) and out of the blue Crytek threw a hissy fit about piracy and said they were cancelling all future patches.

Yeah, thank you you fuckers: I bought that game and you punished me in some infantile tantrum over the pirates. Guess what? Every game is pirated to the hilt, especially one that is as high profile as Crysis. Deal with it and don't punish the people who did the right thing and bought it!

Man my reading skills are shit, I can't see where they are blaming piracy? Good thing we have Creston to tell us that what they are doing.

I bet you that Yerli and EA would have never thought of trying to find out how it was leaked, once again, good thing Creston shared his genus with them.

Creston IS the home of wisdom!

(I feel sorry for them yet it seem like some people here are happy about this??)

Well said Creston! It is absolutely Crytek/EA that has to take ownership of their internal incompetence.

If I recall correctly from yesterday's announcement, someone had indicated Crytek/EA will use this to further blame PC Gamers.

Are they fabricating this ‘whole’ thing to set the stage for not doing PC titles in the future because Cevat Yerli has become another ‘Console Weenie’? If so, WELL REMEMBER THIS CRYTEK, IT IS THE PC GAMERS THAT PAVED YOUR WAY INTO THE MARKET!!! TAKE OWNERSHIP OF YOUR OWN INTERNAL SCREW-UP IN LIEU OF BLAMING THE PC GAMERS ‘ONCE AGAIN’!!!!
