Happy Groundhog Day, as today is… no wait, just kidding. As I mentioned last night, yesterday was the intersection of two running gags here, as the Chinese New Year and the day after Groundhog Day converged (this should explain that for those unfamiliar). Now I have to figure out why I keep waking up to Sonny and Cher on the clock radio.

Sounds like a great time for a star party. Show 'em the Southern Cross. Tonight we have our observatory meeting, I made a powerpoint presentation for the friend I spent time with down in Everglades last month that he is going to show when we saw the Southern Cross (my first time) just barely above the horizon right before morning twilight.
