Out of the Blue

Happy Groundhog Day, as today is the annual celebration of woodchuck weathermen. We're in the middle of an ice storm here in the northeast U.S., so it is a formality to check with the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club to confirm that Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow, traditionally a harbinger of an early spring. Staten Island Chuck agrees with Phil, and managed to make his prognostication without biting the mayor this time. An early spring will certainly be welcome at this point, so I've decided the science behind this forecast is solid.

Well freezing rain (and devastating winds) have given way to a decent snowfall coming down right now.

After spending fifteen minutes today removing my car from its solid encasement in ice, I drove to Chipotle to discover they were closed from power outage -_-.

I have never seen so much snow in my life! Here in Worcester it was hailing really hard about 7:45 am and slamming against my windows. Scared the hell out of me too I thought my windows broke.

Ah the great thing about living in a dorm is I don't have to shovel one snowflake.

Out here in Ipswich, much the same... except that I -do- have to shovel.

Off to open mic night, regardless... maybe.

Does he really make his prediction from a site called Gobbler's Knob?

Is that where those elves make their tasty crackers?

Punxsutawney Groundhog Club

Does he really make his prediction from a site called Gobbler's Knob?

I'm sure the John Birch Society winces every time they see that in print.
