More Fallout: New Vegas DLC Confirmed

Pete Hines of Bethesda Softworks confirms more DLC for Fallout: New Vegas is in the works. "Oh absolutely," Bethesda's VP of PR and marketing tells VG247. "I don’t think we’ve ever had a product where we said, ‘Yeah, we’re just gonna do one DLC pack and that’s all she wrote.’ We like to support our products. We like to do a good job of that, and I don’t think putting out one DLC pack would reach that. I would say you can probably look for other stuff from us down the road." Target platforms are not mentioned, and when asked if presumptions that the Dead Money DLC for Obsidian's action/RPG will eventually be coming to the PC and PlayStation 3 are accurate, he remained elusive: "I think we’ll probably just have to wait and see. I wouldn’t want to say anything more then [sic] that," he tells them. "Right now, it’s exclusive to 360. That’s the only place you can get it. I’m not going to comment on other platforms."

NV is probably the buggiest game I can remember seeing through. It CTD, which in one full-day session happened 4 times, about equal to my combined total CTD on this PC, which I built about the time SP1 was released for Vista almost 2 years ago.

By far most bugs though are in no way related to possible PC issues, and go right down to little things like the constant muttering of "I can't believe Primm wimped out and accepted NCR rule" when I instilled Meyers. I find it hard to imagine anyone paying attention isn't seeing a lot of bugs in even a short session.

I'd find it really easy to throw major criticism after major criticism at the game, the bugs, crappy combat, weak RPG elements, most importantly how uninspired most of it is... But actually for all the time you'll be sitting there having ideas for the game that very likely actually are better than many of those in the game, it does have it's moments and the other 100+ hours are in truth reasonably satisfying.

As far as stability goes, the only time the game has crashed on me is in the Ultra Luxe bath house. That is one of the most posted problems at the official forums, but they did not fix it in the patch even though someone discovered the problem and made a mod to fix it.

I can forgive a few minor things with broken quests and dialog like people commenting on the wrong outcome of the Primm Sheriff (which there is a fix at the NV Nexus) since there are a lot of quests in the game. But when the mod community has fixed them and posted the fixes to mod sites, and the developers release a "major" patch that doesn't fix those little issues that the community has already discovered what is wrong, I can't understand.

Then to break things that worked fine before the patch, and somehow this doesn't get noticed by QA is completely unacceptable. The bug with Boone, which no one can honestly tell me they don't have, is caused by a script error which causes him to go into a loop. It is only noticeable when you're in combat. It causes him to drop out combat, holster his weapon and then re-engage every 5 seconds when the script loops. The person who discovered and uploaded the fix to the NV Nexus found the error in the script and fixed it by adding two semicolons to comment out the lines causing the loop.
