| This whole situation was especially amusing when you consider how many movies and books Blizzard made homeage to in WoW, some of it going almost past the point of parody. |

| whoa, whoa, whoa. I thought I read something awhile back about Blizzard being anti-mod on Diablo 3, yet they encourage this in SC? wow... |

Yeah, it looks like some corporate suit got all legal, but then the folks in charge at Blizzard realized they could turn the whole thing into an asset. So they told the suit to shut up.
If this mod is good, and the coder involved is talented, and they really are working on World of Starcraft, then all they need to do is hire him. They get some new talent, plus points from the community. Easy win. |

| Im convinced they are separate, and if Mr.Kottick ever tried to boss Blizzard around their is likely a clause in contract that says Blizz could go their merry way. Blizzard is just too big. They do what they want. |

"It was never our intention to stop development on the mod or discourage the community from expressing their creativity through the StarCraft II editor," This is laughable statement when you follow up with this:
a move the company says was part of its routine procedure while reaching out to "discuss with the developer what the mod entailed." It's routine to issue cease and desist letters for mod footage posted on youtube? Seems kind of specific, like you were hunting for anything related to that title, World of Starcraft.
More likely you're making this game and you legally have to pursue this if you want to hold that name for yourself. |
