New NVIDIA Reference Drivers

The NVIDIA Website and GeForce.com now offer new version 266.58 reference drivers for GeForce graphics cards. The new drivers offer performance improvements for GeForce 400 and 500 GPUs for several games, add SLI profiles for several games, install updated HD Audio and PhysX drivers, and more. There are new drivers for Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows XP, Windows Vista 64-bit, Windows 7 64-bit, and Windows XP 64-bit. Thanks Wookiestick.

Every time I see new nVidia drivers I wonder if they will be the ones that turn around the crappy downturn nVidia has had lately in driver releases.

And every time I am disappointed.

Handy tool for ATI users. Lets you force Crossfire in games that don't have official profiles yet.

NEW ATI 11.1 beta drivers as well and they kick ass!!!

Can you finally create/control CrossFire profiles with them like nVidia allows their drivers to do for SLI?

I always like to wait a bit just to make sure new drivers dont screw cards up after that card burning driver update.

How so? Do I expect much from my two years old 4870 video card in old, updated XP Pro. SP3?

No, they started including notebook drivers a few months ago. So far, I have not had any problems, but after the post below, might skip these.
Oh wow. That rocks. What about ATI/AMD and others (Intel?)?

Of course these don't work for my laptop. Had to go to Laptop2go for working drivers. Fucking incompetent idiots. I specifically gave them my PCI hardware vendor ID on the forum and the nvidia guy said he would add it to the INF file next update and what do you know, still detects my card as incompatible.
Aren't you supposed to use laptop/notebooks' drivers and not reference drivers? I remember this many years ago too.
