$2.50 for Shatter is a no brainer. I agree wholeheartedly... I really enjoyed this one when I got it in one of the indie packs with the last sales event.
But again, if fast, flashy graphics annoy you, stay away : )

There's a demo for anyone who doesn't know if they'll find it tedious or interesting.
And I bought BC2 Vietnam yesterday, and I find I like it more than vanilla BC2. Very fun with 2 balanced teams. (Though I don't suck any less at it...) |

But after you mentioned it, I decided to try the demo, and just after a few minutes, I bought it. It's now roughly 3 hours later, and I'm taking my first break from it. What does it for me is that it has combat similar to the total war games, but without the boring-ass city parts. It's really like a more streamlined total war game. Build units, send em out to conquer, rout enemies, capture them as slaves, and send em to work in your mines Good game, and I recommend it to any Risk/Total War fans. You are welcome! I really appreciate how Longbow Games support and develop this game. It has and had it issues (I was once so pissed about pathfinding and obstacles that I needed to flame them a little and abandon the game for a while ;P), but they fixed this mostly and they still move on.
I didn't play the latest beta for their addon, but they added awesome stuff. You are free to play any faction now, there is a diplomacy system which seems so simple and yet realistic in its results. And that towns need to replenish their manpower stock is also a milestone for the gameplay. No further endless persian hordes. |

Nooooooo. No. It's a very, very poor effort. Terrible handling, it feels like you're driving a skate-board. I had a feeling someone would tell me not to, it's not the first time someone's had something bad to say about the new NFS in these parts.
Thing is, the Youtube vids look half decent, and it's metacritic average is 87%, which is really, really good.
I can wait though, I have at least half a dozen games still yet to play. |

I thought Singularity was a pretty good game. Definitely derivative but interesting and entertaining nonetheless. A nice change of pace from all the military shooters. If you like shooters, I'd say it's worth about $25.
Also, Amazon is selling the retail version of Fallout: New Vegas for $30. If you liked FO3 but thought it needed the writing and superior role-playing of FO1 and 2, you should pick up FO:NV.

Shatter for 2.50 is insane. That's one of the most fun games I've played all year. If you don't have it, don't buy coffee tomorrow and get one of the best remakes of an old classic ever done. Trust me.

| The Ball is a very well-done indie. Thanks to the Unreal 3 engine it looks great too. Too bad Hegemony went on sale so late - my holiday time off is over and it's back to the daily grind of 70 hours a week for me as of tonight. I still had to get it though - 3 bucks is a no-brainer. |

Europa Universalis Complete is the best offer ever, if you are new to Paradox and its games. |

This will make the next Blues update, but for today's Steam specials Left 4 Dead 2 is 66% off at $6.79, or $4.99 if you own the original. At $4.99, I was able to resist no longer.
They have some fantastic specials, really. GTA4 complete at 75% off for $10. I'm tempted to pick up the new Need 4 Speed Hot Pursuit at $30, but it's only a 40% saving. Going to watch some Youtube gameplay vids while I think about that one |
