World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Trial

Battle.net announces the availability of a 10-day free trial version of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, offering a sample of Blizzard's new MMORPG expansion to those already playing the game. Word is: "To participate, you’ll need full versions of World of Warcraft and the first two expansions, The Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King. Note that a character of at least level 78 is required to explore the new, high-level zones. More information on the 10-day free trial is available in our FAQ. Cata is GOOD!

Seriously the best game experience in the entirity of 2010. Singleplayer game exp included.

80+ content is magnificent. Good quests and questflow. Good leveldesign. Vashj'ir is a HUGE underwater area which is great fun!

I love Blizzard.

Although I felt pissed in the face that I had to buy a month after having payed for thr expansion. ^^

Ant really wants to play. He just can't because he knows he will be forced to make time when he finds out how much he enjoys it again, haha!
Must resiiiiiiiiiiiist!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Funny, my friends are trying to make me play Minecraft too, but I am resisting it even if I got it for free as my early Christmas and birthday gift.

Okay, I see a lot of people who say "Me!" but they're the people who also say they'll never get sucked back into WoW, so I guess that's a different subset of people than I was thinking of. But fair enough, I can see how Blizzard is dangling that carrot just hoping to get you addicted again.

Must resist. I was so addicted to it during late beta and after its release for a few months.

Just say no Ant! You can do. Go on.
I am saying no to game due to lack of time.

Well, I bought and played the game for first few months with game cards. Then, I stopped. Years later, BC trial was up so I tried that for ten days or whatever it was with my old warrior character to level 40

Shouldnt be considered a trial account as you were subscribing at one point. Give it a shot...
OK. I will do that when I am ready whenever that is. I don't want to waste my free trial.

The entire city you described looks nothing like it did a month ago. You're seeing the new content.

No time. hence, why I stopped playing games these days. When I do play, I just play for about 15 minutes like those Flash games.

You can pay my subscription, but I won't be playing much.

Pretty sure you can Ant.

Website says...log into your Bnet account, Select to enable free trial, log into the game.

This is also assuming your account was not just a previous trial account. If you had subscribed at all, you should be able to.

Basically, you can't activate an old trial (that you never payed for) to try the new content.

Too bad I can't try it with my old level 40 warrior account. It said classic game players are not eligible ("World of Warcraft 'classic' trial accounts, World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade trial accounts, and World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King trial accounts are not eligible for the Cataclysm 10-day free trial."). I would have to make a brand new character to try it.

However, it did work with 10 days Burning Crusade a few years ago! It was cool to see the old stuff and say hi to old guild (Council of Thyor) members.

Is there seriously someone who owns WoW, Burning Crusade and Lich King and DOESN'T have Cataclysm? This free trial seems aimed at a subset of WoW fan that quite likely simply doesn't exist...

+1 here, as well. Finally swore it off for good right after WotLK was released, actually...

I don't hate the game, like so many seem to - they're like people who've left the religion of their upbringing, seems like - but I have too little time and too many games to play to sink all my free attention into this mire.
