The fixer is specific to hardcore. There are two hardcore bugs that I know of. Sleeping in a rented or owned bed, even for 1 hour, fully heals you and your limbs. The 12.7mm ammo has the wrong weight, it weighs less than the .22LR.

There are a lot of issues with weights. For example, an empty syringe weighs more than a stimpack and an empty soda bottle weighs more than a bottle filled with purified water.

Yeah I noticed those, but they were like that in Fallout 3, so I doubt they will fix them.

@ Creston "don't think you lose them if you don't have them ON you."

If they are on you OR your companions, yes you do lose them.

As for the cashier suggestion, that is something I never even knew about. I will try that our and hopefully can complete those two quests, for the 10th time....

In any case, these patch notes are extremely vague. What specific issues did they fix with Hardcore mode and Chems/Addiction?

I'm guessing the fact that Fixer permanently removes addiction, rather than temporarily. (It's supposed to be temporarily.)

Edit, meant to say that fixer is not specific to hardcore since chems work the same way with or without hardcore on.

They need to remove the requirement to be logged on to steam to play as well.
Storms have caused a few extended times when internet service was down.
Could I play my single player game--nope.
Change this requirement or make it optional once the game has been properly validated.
I've tested offline mode (unplug your internet connection) and it works fine with single player games in offline. It works fine even if you didn't choose to go into offline mode last time you were online. However, I think if its not fully up to date with patches the last time it was online, it won't let you play offline on those games that have pending patches.

Ok, I just ran into another bugged quest that I don't see on this list of fixes.

***SPOILER ALERT***

It's the unmarked quest with Contreras at McCarran to get the unique weapon "This Machine." I know you can hack his terminal and turn him in, but I figured I'd run his errands and see if I could get more goodies before turning him in. So I get to the last part where you have to deliver his "medical supplies" to the contact in West Side. I chose to bribe the ranger into working with Contreras, but when I return to Contreras, there is no dialog option to end the quest.

I load a save and play through the other ways, and if you kill the ranger, it then gives you the dialog option to tell him you convinced the ranger to work with him.

I wonder if this is fixed and just not listed since it's not a marked quest. I could just go do other things and wait until the patch to see.

Wha? Why is the patch already out on PS3 but not PC? The PC patch doesn't have to go through certification so it should always be the first one released.

Maybe something with the Valve and Sony love?

You lose all heavy weapons if you initiate Cachino or Joannas quests at the omerta casino, forgot the name.

The heavy weapons on you or your companions, either armed or being carried, will be erased from the game.

I found this out about 1.5 hours after then spent 30minutes more finding out where. I can still solve the game buy lose those good quests.

Lame to lose annabelle, fatman and a beefed up flamer, rather keep.them and lose the quests.gco
That's weird, I never lost anything doing those quests. I usually leave my companions outside when I go in, but I discovered that even if your companions are waiting outside it still removes their weapons. I found this out in the Ultra Luxe, when I picked the lock to the cashier's door, I found the container that it stores your weapons in. I found two other containers with weapons and thought I'd hit the jackpot until I realized it was what Boone and ED-E were carrying.

If you didn't get your weapons back, you can try finding the container that the game puts them in and taking them back.

Wow, that's a hilarious changelog. Basically, they could have just said, "What we fixed: every aspect of the game."

I also think it's funny that this patch numbering is 1.02. Version 1.2 would be much more fitting, or maybe version 1.5 or even 2.0. But I digress.

Anyway, sadly I do frequently encounter game breaking bugs such as the "you stop shooting in VATS and watch as the enemy kills in slo-mo you because you went all Ghandi" bug...and the "gun won't shoot anymore or reload" bug...oh, and the "when crouching and walking you iceskate and teleport across the room" bug...oh, and the "enemy mysterious teleports right behind you even though you were just shooting him 5 feet in front of you" bug. Then of course there's the hang on exit bug that requires end-tasking, but that also occurred in Fallout3 and rarely in Oblivion.

But despite all that, the game is very good. Here's hoping my above bugs got fixed...wish those fools knew how to put out an accurate change log instead of just saying "game fixed" because it appears our definitions of "fixed" vary quite a bitÖ

I don't think you lose them if you don't have them ON you. I had Annabelle in my suite at the Lucky 38, and it was there after I'd done the Omerta quests.

I think these patch notes may not be completely correct.

I know for a fact that I have these fixes now, and have had them for weeks at least:
# Companions now show up as waypoints on the map
# Crafting menu now filters valid (bright) recipes to the top of the list

The others aren't as easy to verify, but I'm pretty sure the companion fast-travel fix is already released also.

Everything after the "Top Fixes" section sounds new though.

Steam got a hotfix a few weeks back that included some of the features of this patch, the companion waypoints included. The fast-travel thing I think is mostly for the Caesar's tent bug which still exists.

Creston
I must have been one of the lucky ones then. I've never lost my companions, whether it's Caesar's tent or somewhere else. I did lost Raul's default weapon at one of the casinos though (when they take away your weapons).

I wondered the same. But I think its because this is the first patch for consoles, so this is the complete notes for the first patch consoles have seen which incorporates all the previous PC patches.

Never had any of these problems but it's good to see a patch anyway. Hope it doesn't mess up the DarnUI because of the pipboy changes.
Eh most of them won't be major or small fixes. The nice thing about the pipboy now vs the old way it was done is, everything is done in xml, so fixes are easy after patches.
