I'm learning the the wikileaks issue is bogus, an intentional release of information. It's an Internet 9/11 designed to justify the Feds expanding their tyrannical war to the Internet. Read Cass Sundstien's 2008 paper on how they intend to silence (internet) opposition. There's apparently nothing very controversial about the information that wasn't already in the news media.
LOL, total BS, ranks right up there with 9\11 was an inside job and faked moon landings. That said it seems the government will try to use this opportunity to clamp down and free speech advocates are fighting back, its looking like an all out cyberwar is about to break out.
There is definatly an information battle happening and the media players who are really just propaganda machines for the ruling class are outing themselves left, right and center... at least for anyone who is paying attention to whats happening... just pay attention to the lies about wikileaks and Assange, plus those news organizations that claim there nothing to be learned in the leaks.
Nothing controversial about the information being released? That depends on where you get your news, you watch one of the many propoganda machines then nope 'nothing to see here' for sure. On the other hand if you get your news from one of the few honest news organizations left, or actually read the original docs themselves, shit is hitting the fan like no other time in history. We are in the midst of a historically significant event... IMO.
I could link you to some really eye opening stuff but I donk think it would be fair to Blue. From the rhetoric coming out of your government anyone on US soil who speaks the truth is going to get labeled a terrorist. Notice Lieberman has tested the waters on going after the NYT, I would expect the Huff Post to get on his hit list too... the emperor has no clothes and he is pissed.
Anyway this is a gaming site not a place for political discourse so I'll get off my soap box
PS forgot, U.S. to host world press freedom day in 2011... the irony.
