Good, space captain. Just let it allll out. Better out than in, I always say. And if there's too much anger in you, just sitting down and cry a little can really help.

I don't really care what Pachter wants, he's shown himself to be the literal village idiot with a microphone. He is less qualified to offer opinion on the industry than my dog.

I really think Patcher wants the CoD franchise to shrink so other pubs can sell games. He said as much in one of his more recent vid clips, people spend too much time playing CoD when in the past they'd have spent 20 hours on a similiar game and move on. Now people play that game for 150 hours for the same $60 as when they were playing it for 20 hours meaning that several other games get left on the shelf.

It serves his interests as an analyst to be able to get more companies to recommend because not as many ppl are playing CoD. I see no upside for Activision to start charging to MP, it would just drive more people to play other games. If there were no competition things might be different but there is A LOT of high quality competition. It will be very interesting to see what happens next year.

Right now if you want to play FPS modern type shooters you have Medal of Honor, CoD Blops, MW2 (I'm sure people still play this), BFBC2 (new free maps plus a vietnam expansion soon), plus you have several other games coming out just after the new year.

"We were disappointed to hear Activision's new head of publishing flatly deny the company's plans to charge for multiplayer," wrote Pachter. "We firmly believe that until the publishers address monetization of multiplayer, game sales will continue to be challenged by the publishers' altruistic decision to provide significantly more entertainment value per hour than ever in history."

That is one of the most bloated, pigheaded and foolhardy spouts of bullshit I've ever seen. Yes, why won't publishers ruin a franchise that is already incredibly profitable by making a very controversial decision that could potentially forever sabotage the entire IP? They should rush to charge monthly for an FPS because that's proved so profitable in the past, oh wait no it hasn't. Why not indeed Michael? Idiot. Why does anyone publish this barely functional moron's tripe?
