Not sure your example works since music from iTunes doesn't have DRM on it anymore and hasn't for some time now. Rights management on movies, music, and video games are pretty different beasts both in practice and in the eyes of the people buying them. |

Steve Jobs is still living under some kind of rock in regards to games. Good luck with that one, EA.

Apple has made pretty terrible moves into gaming over the years so I'm not sure this is desirable from anything but a "more competition is good" standpoint. I'm surprised Carmack bothered with Rage Mobile after the early OS X gaming debacle where they gave him the run around for two years but I guess money talks.

If they are smart, they would release a CHEAP console and that an iPhone or iPod touch is the controller via Bluetooth. We're maybe 5 years away from being able to plug our phones into our TVs (or do it wirelessly) and use them as PCs and game machines, anyway.

Seriously I wouldnt put it past them to attempt this. But somehow I doubt that its just not their style. And it would compete with the iPhone which is a pretty good handheld console (among other things) in any case....

Is the Apple console going to release games 4-5 years behind the rest of the industry like they do with their computers?
