All I know is, Treyarch, DICE and all those devs only produce shitty buggy stuff all the time.

How's that PC version of Black Ops, still a laggy piece of shit? Has Activision abandoned it yet?
Dedicated servers locked away at one cherry picked server provider, they couldn't even keep people from exploiting the game and then turned around and threatened to ban people (most of whom were unsuspecting victims of the rank boost exploit) which was due to their negligence in the first place. Mine freezes in the menu for anywhere from 10 seconds to 2 minutes when I fire it up. It will also freeze in game for about 1-5 seconds every 30-45 minutes.
It sucks, but the 30 hours I have into the game.....the small freezes are worth it. The game is so damn easy. Once you get to level 11 or so you can tear everyone a new ass. It is ridiculous. I am Prestige Level 2 and on level 14 I think....takes about 12 hours of fun normal play (about 6-8 if you just play Nuketown DM) to prestige. |

Not really, the ability to create maps in Battlefield 2 didn't do a whole lot community wise, sure there are a few mods that otherwise wouldn't have been possible but the core players want to play on ranked servers.
You can't add custom content to ranked servers unless it's through DICE themselves, such as with some of the 2142 maps.
At least they're releasing some actual new content for the game, and some of it is free!
Medal of Honor, while actually not that bad multiplayer wise was a slap in the face from EA, the game was content anemic, over priced to begin with on the PC ($59.99) and then they had the gall to charge for DLC not even one month after release with a new game mode and a few retooled maps. Very few people bought it on the PC (both the main game and the DLC), maybe more did on the console. |

Too little, too late. I ditched Bad Company the day Medal of Honor came out, and ditched MoH the day Black Ops came out.
I doubt I will ever go back to either of them... no matter the patch or content size that is added. Do you throw away records and cds when you buy new ones?

The ideas are there (destructible environments, vehicles, etc), but they're poorly experienced with floatiness and terrible hit detection. No thanks. I don't think so. I do think they made the hit detection worse when they changed to the MOH hd but still there is no game that gives you the combination of infantry and vehicles in a dynamic environment. I find it much more fun than just running around shooting people in a static environment like in COD and MOH. Again, I'm not questioning the type of gameplay BF offers. I just happen to think their engine is shit for the actual shooter aspect of the game. So they can provide the coolest combination of gameplay in the world, but if it's implemented within a crappy engine, it sorta nullifies the cool gameplay.
Aside from that, who cares? Play both or only one type based on your preference. If BC2 didn't have mediocre shooter elements, I'd happily go to that to get my open warfare fix. Both gameplay types offer unique experiences that can be enjoyed by all. I think the engine is a massive improvement over the one used in BF2. |

*edit* I do have to retract my former comment that it's one of the crappiest engines we've seen in a shooter. That's a bit much. I guess I just find it extra disappointing that I see so much potential in the gameplay you revel, but falls short in the end for me.

They've been doing this since BF1942 though so there is no excuse for that nonsense to continue. They changed their patching procedure, but they made new mistakes in the cooking procedure. It is a software engineering problem and they have to fix it for BF3 to retain any credibility in the SE department. |

Surprise, surprise. DICE being their usual mediocre selves again. You are upset because they are going to charge for the Vietnam expansion? Not sure... Not upset at that, just upset that DICE is a shadow of the DICE of BF2. They're now pretty much one of the most mediocre developers out there. The mistakes they made with BC2 and MoH are just a bit too much for me and it gives me no hope that BF3 will live up to BF's legacy of great, albeit buggy, games. I fear BF3 may be more BC3 than BF3 by the looks of it.
Hell, even repi has twitted that modtools are being considered but no promises, which for me is dev speak for BF3 won't have modtools. |
