Drakensang Online Announced

Bigpoint announces Drakensang Online, a browser-based version of this role-playing game planned for launch in spring 2011. Though the game will be free-to-play, they say its "high-quality graphics and intricate details are sure to captivate viewers like no other browser-based game has done before, strengthening the online game's renowned reputation." They also say more information can be found on the game's website, but that is premature, as it is just a registrar's parking page as of this writing.

There hasn't been many games in my past that I found worthy to try but stopped playing a few hours in because they were just too crap. Drakensang, though, was one of them.

Which ques my second complaint: damned hell, all the news on Blues is uninteresting lately. Not Blues' fault of course, just a sad sign that our... or atleast my treasured hobby is dying.

Ah, after a few searches, apparently an English version of Drakensang: River of Time has been released in Belgium and a few other places, just nothing in the US yet.

It's like these guys have never heard of digital distribution or something, I am sure they would clean up on Steam/Impulse/etc.

Shame they'll never come here. I just finished the second Drakensang game, River of Time, last month. Not a bad Dragon Age alternative.

River of Time, English version? Or do you speak German? Last I had checked, there was no official English version yet...

I've never really played a "real" game in a browser that I thought was good. I'm not saying it's impossible, but the deck is stacked against it.

The dtp forums had been talking about this for quite some time. This and another Drakensang game, some action RPG, were due to be released.
