There is no substitute for outdoor physical activity. We all need sunlight, fresh air, and exercise, even if it's just a daily stroll through the park.

TV just encourages unhealthy behavior both mentally and physically.
I fully agree that the internet has the capacity to be healthier than TV mentally. However, if you are stating that the internet is better for you physically as well, I would have to say that you are comparing apples and apples.

My profound wisdom would go to waste if I didn't share it on Blue's News.

Like almost everything else that's enjoyable in the universe, it's unhealthy when you devote all of your time to it. Thanks for the amazing revelation Bob

Precious little interaction involved in my internet use. Nothing that could be construed as healthy activity by any stretch, anyway.

There's a difference between surfing porn sites vs. reading Wikipedia articles.

Internet, with moderation, is not so bad because it requires interaction. TV just encourages unhealthy behavior both mentally and physically. People with kids should never watch TVs, it just leads to child-hood obesity and slow social development. Even adults should avoid watching TV and look for more interactive hobbies.

I actually don't have a hard time believing the losses are in large part due to the economy. Paying for cable is kind of crazy when you are struggling to put food on the table or remain in your house or apartment.

Went over to AT&T U-verse when our TWC contract expired. They wouldn't renew our previous contract instead opting to the 'a la carte' pricing which would have raised our monthly bill over $60. No thanks.
How is AT&T U-verse for you? They've been pushing it real hard since they hooked up my neighborhood. I priced an AT&T plan, and for what I'm currently paying for basic cable (no HD, about 50 channels, maybe 5 that I watch) + internet (10Mbps), I can get the 18Mbps plan and the 300 channel digital + HD package from AT&T. Not that I would go with that plan, but I know I can get more from them for the same price.

so...they lose hundreds of thousands of customers...and they still make profit?

Nope! Nothing is wrong here.
/sarcasm

FWIW, ill be getting rid of TWC TV services next month. OTA HD is perfectly fine..and free. Anything else I can get online. fifty bucks or more a month will be back in my hands
