Yup, Creston was full of shit.

As for the whole Indie thing... it's fun the stuff excists, sure, but it's not the stuff I write home about like surprisingly many others seem to do. One of those reasons is point 4 in your list, Icewind, which is "immersion". I've firsthandedly experienced the lack of immersion in console games, due to both the whole "living room couch" setting and tunnel-vision conroller gamplay, which is the number one reason I don't like consoles. Indie games, too, fail to get me "immersed" because they're basically just simple fun. Nothing wrong with simple fun... but then I might aswell get a console.

To say that indie games are the future of the PC.... well, I hope that's not the case. Let games like the ones Icewind mentioned be that future, I pray.
