All kidding aside, I can't count the number of kids I see crossing the street these days while staring at their phone. The future generation of drivers to boot. Forget insurance, I don't want to end up crippled or dead because little Johnny wanted to update his Facebook wall.

I keep checking my rearview mirror, just WAITING until I see some shitbag texting on his/her phone while he/she is right on my tailpipe. I will plow on the breaks and sue for fucking MILLIONS.

(Driver has to be in Lexus or equivalent quality vehicle. No sense in suing someone who drives a fucking 74 Chevy Nova.)

Where is Enahs when you need him? We need a good car fire story....

Yes. They are.

There, I have just provided the same amount of scientific 'evidence' that most 'studies' into violence and its link to gaming do.

Did you wear a lab coat and hold a clip board while saying that? *Grin*

Well, of course. And I had one of those "This is a REAL DOCTOR!" things hanging above me.

Let's perform our own little study.

Too much TV: Rick of obesity, near-sightedness, shortened attention span...some would say violent tendancies from seeing umpteen million murders. (I wouldn't but some would.)

Texting and Facebook: All of the above, most of them magnified significantly, plus throw in horrific automobile accidents and posting stupid amounts of information where every creep on the interwebs can find it (and, by extension, the kid).

My 30 second study shows that you should put the kid on an exercise bike in front of the TV, queue up your Firefly collection, give him some glasses, and drop his iPhone in the blender...
