You download 6 gigs of patches, then they copy the whole game while overwriting the old one. Don't know why they can't just patch one file at a time and need oh say 10mb free space? Ya that update process completely killed my attempt at applying patch 4.01. Instead I had to uninstall the game and reinstall it using the new launcher / updater (found under a sub menu of your Battlenet account page, i.e. Full Game Install).
My assumption is that everyone should have the new launcher / updater now, so adding Cataclysm should be a "streamed" process rather than a downloaded patch update (assuming you purchase the online version).
BTW since I did a complete reinstall using the new launcher / updater, my WoW folder uses only 21.8 GB of space. |

I'm guessing #1 on the list may be: there's a 2 second lag every time you press any button since the game places control for literally everything server-side. And the servers are in Japan. My other favorite part is where Square Enix said they got massive complaints during their feedback tests from the "west", but decided to ignore it all.
What's the point of even testing if you're just going to ignore the issues that you discover? |

MMORPGs need reasonable system specs. Blizzard and Turbine understand this. FF14 is a joke for many reasons. It's hefty system requirements are I believe #287 on that list.
Among the top 5 still has to be: you can only do 8 quests every 36 hours. Yes, I believe the key phrase is 'nobody can play it even if they want to'. For multiple reasons, demand is not high.

You must have an active broadband Internet connection to play. Ya don't say? Are people really that stupid that that has to be mentioned?
Wait, don't answer that...
... why won't Blizzard ship this game, as an updated image final install on a $10 8GB USB stick, along with a new $45-budget oriented Videocard, a $35 2GB memory module...etc. That's a good idea (thinking 'out-of-the-box'), but then Blizz would have tons of freakin' noobs calling in trying to figure out why the video card won't go into the memory slot like their 10-year-old nephew said it should...
Really, hardware in a limited edition box could be something to look into. As stated, it would certainly raise the 'value' of the SE boxes. But with the literally infinite hardware combinations out there, it would be more of a shot in the dark than anything. Plus I can't see vid cards going that low (well, anything worth buying anyway). The RAM is another problem. You got DDR, DDR2, DDR3 (hell, some people might still have EDO RAM in their boat anchors for all we know!) ...
I guess another way would be to include a 'gift' certificate or voucher of some sort for the upgrades, maybe being sponsored by Wal-Mart or Best Buy or something like that. Then they could get what would suit their system...assuming they knew to begin with... *shrug*

What the fuck man! That is 25 gb free space. I think that is needed when installing the expansion. I bet if your WoW program has the current patch whatever size it is now is what it is going to be after the expansion. |

Or they could include a free Battle.net Authenticator. It costs Blizzard practically nothing for the device but they would save so much money in the long term from not having to deal with so many hacked accounts. |

| Those recommended specs are a little low from my experiences. Unless you're running at very low resolutions you're going to have to turn down a lot of settings. Probably have to chose simple shadows and forgo the new water. I know recommended doesn't mean best, but you should be able to see most of the new graphical features with minimal reduction of graphics. |

It might just be me but it seems like when you run the game in DirectX 11 mode on a DX11 card that the frames actually increase, especially in areas like Dalaran and Orgrimmar since they're now jam-packed with players.
Then again, maybe I just never paid much attention to it before. |

| As much as I'd love getting hardware with my game for free, the idea of someone like my wife (and some of my friends) getting new memory and not knowing what to do with it scares me. On the plus side, computer service businesses would see a spike in business. |
