I had to stop using Boone, he's an awesome companion and his perk kicks ass but he makes the game way too easy. He would literally shoot shit before I've even seen it and he's two shotting stuff some mobs on hardcore.
Companions irritate the living hell out of me anyways, as they'll just go charging off and shoot shit 15 rooms away. (and who EVER thought it was a good idea to have slow-mo deaths OUTSIDE of VATS, EVEN IF YOUR COMPANIONS KILL THEM?!)
I've got them both set to passive, and they'll still just run off and hunt a nightkin somewhere. I'm of half a mind to just let them fucking die.
