I take the CTD, bluescreen, other "game won't even run" as things that can PROBABLY be fixed by the end user if they didn't have any number of 3rd party, crappy, illegal, malware, etc etc etc software on their computer.
That being said. Blue screen is USUALLY hardware related.
When a game is taxing the hell out of your hardware like this game CAN - if there is the slightest driver issue - you need to find what is causing it. Can be as easy as for some reason your NIC is interfering with some weird ass call to the software for some stupid ass reason when the game boots up.
Start taking out hardware that isn't essential to running the game.
Did you get your memory online or at a super low price?
Well, you get what you pay for.
When was the last time you cleaned out the inside of your rig?
Dust generates heat generates problems.
Have you made sure all connections are solid/seated?
Is your computer MOBO grounded correctly?
Are you running some weird ass program you shouldn't be?
Is it time for a reinstall? (surprisingly the 953 some odd days of my install is still damn solid)
Have you done basic disk checks? Defrag, etc etc etc
Is your Steam file structure folder structure borked?
Do you get a lot of Steam errors?
Now. The list goes on and on.
With all that being said.
There is SO MUCH hardware and SO MUCH software that people have installed, there is no way to know what is causing it without a fresh install and the game only.
Yea, I know - sucks.
But if MY rig as bastardized as it is - can run it as well as it does - I would say the problem isn't' 100% the game....
A lot of these games are dumping error log files now - take a look at it - honestly - sometimes it tells you EXACTLY what the problem is. If it doesn't - quit bitching online and send in a ticket with your log file and dxdiag files.
And honestly - some gamers are just as stubborn as women.
Instead of buying the pants or dress in their size - they buy what size they THINK they are and get mad when it doesn't fit.
The same goes for gamers who THINK their rig can run the game at x,y,z settings, that is obviously not the correct setup, and should be P,Q,R which doesn't look as pretty, but it works.
Do yourself a favor, use your brain like we used to for games to work - turn all of the pretty shit off and try again.
