I thought the campaign was very enjoyable. I liked the meta-game of choosing which upgrades to purchase with the money and tech you acquire by completing missions.
My only disappointment was in the cutscenes which were not pre-rendered. The pre-rendered cutscenes (there are about 3 of them IIRC) look great, but most missions begin and end with real-time rendered scenes which didn't look good on my machine. The shadows were far too blocky.
The plot and characters are average, but there's an excellent variety of missions to play through. Bonus objectives keep you on your toes, and there's multiple difficulty levels and a slew of achievements to keep even the best StarCraft players feeling challenged. |

Dear Chris Sigaty Can you finally remove the annoying world region blocks so that friends from across atlantic can play vs each other using the same game they bought? Thanks for your time and next time rethink your stupid world region idea. |

That i heard a lot. Hmm, i guess i just wait for all three games to be released and available as a typical GotY edition, all inclusive. Wait wait wait...you're waiting for the next two parts of a Blizzard game AND a GOTY edition???!?
Your grandkids will fucking love it, I'll say that.

I dont buy Starcraft for e-sport. I would buy it for the singleplayer campaign. Would i be stupid too?
Yes because the single player campaign is the most over-rated I've played in ten years. Boring and cliched is the only thing that came to mind while I was playing through it. Multiplayer is this game's forte. The single player is just filler. |

It caters to spammers, trolls, and name callers who don't actually do anything useful with the channels to setup games and do things that are actually productive. Think about how many gold sellers are going to abuse it.
Bottom line, if you're there just to play custom games - the mechanisms are already there for you to do that. If you're there to ladder up - well, it's there. Chat channels are just a fluff piece to kill time between games if you care about that.
But of course the Blizzard haters pop out of the woodwork. Must be in style to bash on the big guy, once all the news about crap like Elemental and APB get boring. Bullshit and short sighted. Just because the potential for abuse exists doesn't mean the feature itself is worthless, as evidenced by the mountains of fans requesting the feature back and Blizzard themselves seeing the value in it again. You might have a point if Blizzard had bothered to build in ANY community features into battle.net but there isn't even rudimentary clan or guild support. Just because you can only see playing games with a few people on your friends list doesn't mean everyone likes to play that way. |

DRM hate aside I've mostly been enjoying the campaign, I know some people don't like the new style, but I think its more immersive. I still would have liked to see terran zerg and protoss perspectives in the same game (though you do get a little protoss), but this is still good.
I don't play PvP much, but I have to agree about the zerg. First off I've noticed you pretty much have to zergling rush, if for no other reason than to just slow your opponent down. I've tried playing defensively, trying to build up more variety of troops, and it's just not working for me. I also thought their tech tree was a little more complicated, there seemed to be more dependents than the other trees. But they wouldn't be able to charge you 3 times for a complete game if they had included Zerg and Protoss sp campaigns. At any rate the game is alright, its a solid RTS, not at all innovative but then again innovation isn't exactly Blizzard's forte to begin with. |

Blizzard haters? As having an opinion about Blizzards latest game and hating something are 2 vastly different things, one has to wonder whether we shouldn't say that the Blizzard apologists come out of the woodwork instead?
Imo we should abolish forums as clearly they can be used to cater to spammers, trolls, and name callers who don't actually do anything |

Yet the game remains awesome despite its small shortcomings. The reason they didn't want chat channels is precisely due to all the abuse that occurs within, eg. spammers who crowd the channels and make it impossible for legitimate users to do anything.

Verno wrote on Sep 26, 2010, 20:48: Yeah, that's been a common complaint. Battle.net 2.0 feels very lifeless, there's no sense of actually being in a community of thousands of other players. Websites like this one can't make a chat room on b.net for people to congregate in and setup matches. Having everything through the Friends list is silly and the Facebook crap turned out to be a bust anyways.
That's why they're adding chat rooms back in, frankly it made little sense to remove them anyways as resource-wise they aren't intensive or costly in the slightest.
The custom maps list needs to be looked at too, the paged functionality is annoying in its current implementation. I don't want to have to click show more 100 times to see the list, just let me have a checkbox that says "auto-expand on refresh" or something. Better yet, build an interface that isn't hard coded to suit people running the game at 800x600. Yes but its Blizzard we're talking about here, expecting them to design for hardware tech newer than 2001 is asking for alot. |

| I don't really understand battle.net anymore. I remember back when I played Warcraft 2 and 3 that you could join chat rooms and talk to other players. Now it seems as if my only option is to stare at a basic login screen waiting to pick single player, multi player, etc. |
