As long as Steve Jobs thinks he can dictate what I run on my systems he will never see one red cent from me.

Personally, I laugh at anyone fool enough to buy an iphone, you are just funding a seriously flawed personality. Even when highly respected media pointed out the antenna flaw in his newest iphone he attempted to slough the fault off on others instead of taking ownership of the problem.

Isn't Android the OS not the phone? Though I know some companies have name their phones Droid and similar catchy things... still comparing a mobile OS to a phone is somewhat silly. Since we all know there are about ten different phones using the Google OS and another dozen in development. Just saying.

Android is the OS, yeah, and there's one phone officially named the Droid (by Motorola.)

However, more and more it seems that phones that run on Android are referred to as "droids", as for example the HTC Incredible is more commonly known as the Droid Incredible, or the dInc for short.

However, since Android is the closest comparable OS to the iPhone's OS, I fail to see why you can't compare the two.

Steve Jobs is killing himself with his stupid stubborn refusal to allow Flash on his iPhone.

Next up for the apple monkeys : iPee! Let Steve Jobs pee on you!

Edit : Spelling.

Ah, wrong. Do you have 7? It's like Vista (only ten times better) but won't run on just anything. Anyway as long as they are comparing the OS to another OS I get your point. The last article was not so I assumed it was the same. It's not. Either way no biggie.

edit: Now what they should compare is the reliability of the hardware. That would be interesting. A friend of mine went through three Captivates in a week. He's into rooting his phone every week or so. Big waste of time if you ask me.

I of course mean that Windows is not artificially locked to a proprietary hardware system unlike OSX...not that Win7 will actually run on every possible hardware platform past and present

A guy I work with has had the original Motorola Droid since it was launched with no issues. It does seem some of the cheaper platforms don't hold up or perform nearly as well.

That's kinda like saying OSX and Windows 7 sales can't be compared because OSX only works on Apples (their choice...not the consumer) while Win7 can work on anything.

I don't get your point. The iPhone has an OS as well, and can't use Android. Are you saying that because Android is not artificially locked to one brand of phone, that it can't be compared to the iPhone in terms of popularity?
