Back to the Future Details

Telltale Games announces new details about their planned Back to the Future game, which will be released in five monthly installments beginning this winter. They also reveal that the stars of the movie series will also star in the game series: "Telltale today announced that the highly anticipated Back to the Future games will feature the likenesses of the original stars that made the characters of Marty McFly and Doc Brown legendary: Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd. Lloyd is voicing Doc Brown for the full game series, which Telltale will deliver in five monthly episodes. The first images showing the game depictions of Marty and Doc are now available at: www.backtothefuturegame.com. The game series is developed through a licensing agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing."

heavy.
There's that word again; "heavy". Why are things so heavy in the future? Is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?

Ah, the Half-Life 2 t-shirt. Yeah, I've got mine hanging in the closet. When I wear it to Wal-Mart or something I guess people think I'm a Linkin' Park kinda guy...on second thought, maybe I shouldn't wear it to Wal-Mart anymore...

Of course, I wear my Blues shirt all the time. I might be in need of a new one soon, this one has a lot of miles on it...

By the way, WHAT THE HELL IS A JIGOWATT?!?

Maybe I'm just not 'Jiggy wit it' anymore...

I have a t-shirt that has this line with a cool comic-book style picture of the team fighting the Stay-Puft man.

It's one of only three shirts I've ever been complimented on, one of which was a Half Life 2 shirt that I got with the retail Collector's Edition. Go figure.

Actually, it was "back off, man, I'm a scientist."

Also: "ok. So? She's a dog."

"Let's show this bitch how we do things downtown."

"Ray, the next time someone asks you if you're a god, you say YES!!"

"Someone blows their nose and you want to take a sample of it."

"That's the bedroom, but nothing ever happened in there."
"What a crime."

"...then the door opened and I heard a voice say 'Zuul.'"
"Not the kind of behavior you'd expect from a household appliance."

"Hey, where do these stairs go?"
"They go up."

"If I'm right, Lenny, you would be saving the lives of millions of registered voters."

As for BTTF, it has its share as well, but not as many. I think it was overall a more meaningful film than GB, which was simply a pure comedy, but I like it just as much.
Who can forget "1.21 Jigawatts!! Great Scott!!"

Ghostbusters really isn't that quotable. All time great adventurish-comedy with very memorable scenes? Yes. Quotable? Not much past Gozer related stuff.

Back to the Future, on the otherhand, is fairly quotable.

Really? Way back I recall seeing a bunch of t-shirt with Ghost Busters quotes.

Maybe it's just me, but off the top of my head I can think of..

Don't mess with me man, I'm a scientist.

Dogs and cats, living together... mass hysteria

Someone saw a cockroach up on twelve.
That's gotta be some cockroach.
Bite your head off, man.

I blame myself
So do I

Get her!

Why worry? Each one of us is carrying an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on his back.

And that's without going to imdb.

Back to the Future was great (one of my favorites) and I enjoyed the sequels more than Ghost Busters 2.

But I don't recall that many throw-away phrases, except for Biff's goofs and a few catch phrases like "Great Scott" and "heavy."

So it's being released over 5 monthly installments?
So we'll see two episodes before it's shelved...

Yeah, Telltale has done that with all their games...

er, wait...

Episodic.. so if it's on consoles, it will be XBL/PSN/WiiWare more than likely just like other Telltale games

Releases on those platforms are very sporadic though... Monkey Island is only on Wii, Sam and Max 3 is only on PS3, etc..

Still no platforms announced... PC is a given with telltale I would guess, but who knows what else this will come out on.

If it's traditional adventure gaming and has a good look I'll be sure to try it.

At first glance it sounds rediculous, it's a fairly old IP and games based on movies are usually an automatic fail.

Then again the recent Ghost Busters game was alright, and it was great hearing the original cast again. That IP is probably even older.

As far as which one is a bigger part of our film culture, I don't know. Ghost Busters wins out in terms of best quotes, but both are popular and memorable.
