I prefer holding shift the entire time. It makes me think the words will have an easier time penetrating thick skulls that somehow think "I'm afraid that sticking with the Bioshock universe will make a lesser game" means "OMG their're gunna ruin me bioshock! this iznt really bioshock!" |

| Personally I think this is what they should have done with the sequel. They nailed the whole underwater thing with the original; next they need to do something different. This looks very stylised, yet still has a similar feel to the original. |

You're making a lot of assumptions about this game and what elements it's going to contain. Like a typical fanboy you're more concerned with maintaining the old of Rapture (e.g. Bioshock 1 & 2) than you are with what something new might bring. HOLY GODDAMN CRAP I JUST SAID THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU THINK I SAID!
I DO NOT GIVE A SHIT ABOUT RAPTURE. WHAT I GIVE A SHIT IS THAT, BY SHOEHORNING A GAME INTO THE UNIVERSE, THEY NEED TO MAKE SOME DECISIONS BASED SOLELY UPON WHAT RAPTURE WAS. THEY CANNOT ADD THINGS THAT DID NOT EXIST IN RAPTURE BECAUSE IT WOULD MAKE NO SENSE IN THE TIMELINE.
MY COMPLAINT IS NOTNOTNOTNOTNOT THAT THEY WILL RUIN THE TIMELINE. MY COMPLAINT IS NOT THAT THEY WILL RUIN BIOSHOCK. MY COMPLAINT IS THAT THEY WILL RUIN THE NEW GAME BY ARTIFICIALLY CONFORMING TO THE OLD GAME.
I FAIL TO SEE HOW THIS IS A HARD CONCEPT TO GRASP. IT WOULD ALSO MAKE ME AN ANTI-FANBOY, IF ANYTHING, AS MY CONCERN HAS ZILCH TO DO WITH BIOSHOCK, WHICH I KEEP REPEATING I HAVE LITTLE LOVE FOR, AND EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THE NEW GAME.
STOP BEING DENSE AND READ THESE ALL-CAPS WORDS I AM NOW SCREAMING AT YOU IN HOPES THAT IT MAKES IT SINK IN. |

| Meh. So it's basically Bioshock in the sky. While I enjoyed Bioshock, it was more of a one-time novelty. The sequel bored me to tears and Infinite looks like it may as well. I was hoping for something new and innovative, not just the same game in a different setting. |

Wow the game was just announced and already there's nerd rage over some trivial detail.
If anybody ever wonders why developers hardly ever go into forums or ask fans what they think of something, there ya go.

Yes yes quicksilver, everyone who disagrees with you is a fanboy, we get it. Well done chap. For the record Bioshock was a very divisive game, not some big game that had a fanboy following like MW2. It's also amusing that you criticize others for making assumptions when you're doing the exact same thing on the opposite side of the spectrum.
Skyshock is a terrible name by the way. I'd oppose it just on the principle that it sounds like a third grader came up with it
This is a stand-alone story, in a whole new location with no connection to Andrew Ryan or Rapture. Like System Shock and Bioshock, they will share similar gameplay mechanics and themes but this is not a prequel, so you can kindly stfu with your nerd rage. You're actually raging out pretty hard ITT man. And all that comment proves is that it shouldn't share the Bioshock name, you quite literally just said so yourself |

The problem isn't the name, it's the baggage that comes with the name.
Hey, what if you create an awesome scifi universe. Then, to make it sell better, someone decides to make it Star Wars. The problem I'd have isn't that it's a disservice to Star Wars, it's that in order to shoehorn it into Star Wars you'd need to make compromises, undoubtedly negative ones, to the original IP. Otherwise it doesn't fit. You're intentionally lessening the new IP so that it fits better and sells beter.
It's like you lack the ability to think out the consequences here, and to distinguish it from those that whine about a game doing a disservice to a title. Like I said before, if this was called SkyShock you wouldn't care. It's like complaining about Bioshock because it takes place in the 1960's in an underwater city instead of on the Von Braun in the 22nd century. Ken Levine himself has said this game has no narrative connection to Bioshock. There is no connection to the first two games. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/38679186/ns/technology_and_science-games/
