StarCraft II is Year's Biggest PC Game Launch

StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty sold more than a million copies in 24 hours and 1.5 million copies over the first 48 hours of availability, announces Blizzard. They say this makes the real-time strategy sequel the biggest PC game launch of the year, and that this sets a record "for fastest-selling strategy game of all time."

you guys have been taken in by the name of Blizzard

So the fact that I'm actually really enjoying the game, have finished it already and will be diving into the other game modes, and hittin up SP in Hard mode...means I'm brainwashed by Blizzard's hype and can't make my mind? If I don't enjoy a game I tend to not finish it.

ie: despite liking Company of Heroes I've only finished the first game, but not either expansion. DoW2 I got for free for doing a beta test for them and have never been able to get more than a couple hours into the game without being bored, even though the game isn't that bad.

Yet SC2 I haven't been able to put it down since it's release a week ago, and want more.

Nobody is talking about the game being great just because of the CGI movies, except you. I don't base a games enjoyment on the cutscenes...However, they are great, not all are CGI, most are in-game engine cutscenes and they are great too.

Content does, SC2 SP game is nice.

That's not what you said before.

But when it comes to the MP, that’s were I have issues with this game.

Again, you said the whole game sucked.

Defenses, well they are lacking, they are more like paper silhouettes.

Might as well not even build them.

Then you aren't doing it right, and you can't rely on defense structure alone to defend.

Units, no formations at all.

While at times I wish there was formations, other games that have had them ultimately didn't work and caused more problems than they were worth. Certainly depends on the game, but games like this, there isn't space for proper formations.

A new paint job, but the rust still remains.

Rust that never rotted in 12 years...I'll take that.

Don't get me wrong, I have a few issues with the game, but nothing drastic and I really don't care that they didn't change gameplay much . They did something new with Warcraft 3, and a lot of people didn't like it, but then again a lot of people did. In the end you can't please everyone. So would it have been better to please the minority here (which you clearly are) and make drastic changes for the sake of change? I don't think so. Pleasing the masses that are happy with more of the same gameplay and just overhauling the presentation seems to have worked out just fine.
