400+ for a dx11 card?
You should maybe watch the video card market once in a while:

Sorry.. I don't buy bottom basement hardware. I only by enthusiast level hardware for my machine. You could probably run WoW on a $50 Dx11 card but if you ever wanted to play anything newer than 6 years old or very low end you'd be shit out of luck.
When I say $400, I'm talking about the top cards available.
In the end.. the point I am making is that these crap reflections are in no way a Dx11 technology and requiring it will only put off the vast.. vast majority of their player base, most of whom haven't upgraded in years.
Hands down the best art style and without a doubt the most fluid animations in any MMO, and I have played about 90% of them.

WoW has some of the best graphics in any MMO I have ever seen. The design of the game was not meant to be photo realistic, and unfortunately some people seem to think that is the case. MMO games that throw out more polygons and bigger textures usually end up looking like abominations because they try too hard for realism. Blizzard took a brilliant approach and went the other way. They made a game that, while looking somewhat dated in a few areas after several years, the tree canopies mostly, still holds its own against games that have come out in the past year or so. Hands down the best art style and without a doubt the most fluid animations in any MMO, and I have played about 90% of them.

Eldaron you've quickly become the biggest fucking retard on this web site. Too bad the ignore function doesn't include the occasions when some unfortunate soul takes to quoting the endless garbage spewing from your pie hole.
Krovven wrote on Jul 5, 2010, 17:47:QFT. If anything the art direction and area design is top notch. It's not super-realistic but it's not meant to be. In my experience, MMOs the concentrate on great graphics usually fall short in gameplay.ASJD wrote on Jul 5, 2010, 17:17:
WoW still looks good? WoW never looked good.
To each his own. This argument reminds me of all the people saying how Team Fortress 2 looks like shit, because of the cartoon art direction.

Fast forward 5 years...EQ2 looks like dogshit with plastic doll characters, while WoW still looks good, even in the classic WoW zones.

HAAHHAH!! WoW is a fucking HIDEOUS looking game. The whole thing needs a redesign. DX11 is pointless when every scene contains a maximum of like 15 polys.
I wouldn't call WoW a hideous looking game. It has its own art and it was a very smart approach for a MMORPG, that is a rockhard fact. Think about how many customers Age of Conan lost not due to it being a crap game overall, but merely because people could barely run the game! WoW looks relatively amazing on crapcomputers and acceptable still on high ends.

Paying for high-end gear to get snazzy extra effects in 6-year old PC games?
What will they think of next?
