| It may have been Aftershock, I'm really not sure. I'm not at home or I'd look through my old site archives. If I recall, I based it off previous id release days of the week (Doom, Qtest, etc.) and release times. It may have helped that I play tested it and may have gotten a feel for how much they had left to do, but I guessed the release date over a month in advance! There was no indication from id as to when they would release. |

Wasn't the site Aftershock? |

sometimes i feel weird that what i look back on fondly as "the good old days" chiefly concern my exploits in virtual worlds, killing thousands. |

quake forced me to switch from a mac to windows. i played the gl version of the game at a demo setup at fry's electronics. it made me get the voodoo card add-on so that i can play the gl version of quake. anyone remember the bypass cables of voodoo cards? good times!
in case anyone wants to play the single player campaign of quake. here is the flash version playable through your web browser.

Thinking I'll play a little Quake when I get home..listening to the soundtrack at work has me very nostalgic.
The homebrew version I have for Wii is actually looking like the easiest option when compared to hunting for the installation CD... |

So many Quake memories! Amen! I actually have Heat.net to thank for getting me playing online for the first time around '96-'97. That first night of fragging real people is probably my fondest PC-gaming memory and instantly convinced me that online-gaming was the future :). |

Today marks the 14th anniversary of the release of the shareware version of QUAKE back in 1996. Time to crank up the soundtrack again!
Coincidentally created by NIN.
Edit: Well, technically not NIN but it was created by Trent.

damn.
/almost forgot. I asked a few days ago (er maybe weeks) but Blue's life story is more important!
So, I am looking for a Digital SLR camera. Price isn't an issue - as I don't want an entry level piece of equipment, but I am not shooting for the moon here either.
I need some opinions on what people use or what they recommend for middle of the road price range. Obviously I want something scalable, etc.
CNET calls this the middle of the road: A "prosumer". Is this what I should be looking at? http://reviews.cnet.com/best-midrange-dslr-cameras/
Thanks.
