PSN+ is a pretty mixed bag.
It's $50 USD, only supports up to 4 player voicechats and the so called free content is rendered inaccessible if you ever stop paying pay for the service. I don't know what I was expecting but it wasn't this. They were saying that now demos and betas will be given early to people with PSN+ which is kind of shitty for the people who aren't paying, another idea borrowed from Microsoft that MS eventually learned was a bad thing.
The Move seems like an improvement on the Wiimote idea which is fine for that kind of game but I still don't see myself playing FPS games with it. In a war between it and the Microsoft Kinect the only real winner is the investor, consumers seem to lose either way judging by the games lists so far.
The 3DS on the other hand looks really impressive. Great list of games so far, the underlying tech seems surprisingly powerful for a Nintendo system and Nintendo has really listened to consumer concerns when developing it. The thing even has a hardware slider for the 3D functionality. If you're going to do gimmicky 3D then this is the way to do it - on a handheld system with plenty of options. I have zero interest in the living room 3D stuff that Sony was talking about and I bet most others share the same opinion. |
