SEGA Classics

Steam now has the release of the promised collection of SEGA Genesis games from back in the 16-bit days. Now available are Golden Axe, Altered Beast, Comix Zone, Ecco the Dolphin, Gain Ground, Shinobi III, Vectorman, Sonic 3D Blast, Crack Down, Shadow Dancer, and Space Harrier II, as well as a bundle that includes the whole shebang, for you Ricky Martin/William Hung fans.

Yeah I really don't see the point of this, add to the fact that they re-released these games like 10 times on multiple platform already.

Heh. I still have a fully functioning Genesis with Altered Beast and all.

While I really liked playing some of these games back in the day, I don't share much enthusiasm for this cheap attempt at cashing in. A lot of "noob" gaming blogs\websites hail this with excitement. I purchased these for the console originally. I played them again using PC emulators back in the early 2000s (legal or not, I did). Why would I buy them again now? Unless I was some dipshit late to the party who didn't know what emulators were.

And really, Xbox Arcade and Wii whatever re-releases aren't anything to write home about either.

Earthworm Jim HD? Great. Except I owned it on Genesis, played it on emulators when it was nearly at retro status and now I'm over it. Who are the morons willing to pay for this shit.
