I did get on the bad side of a lot of npcs a bit too easily it seemed like. right in the start town with the guy that gives the dragonel quest he just started attacking me when I was going to hand in the quest, the guy that lives right outside of town with the sword I was supposed to get and return to the blacksmith attacked me, although fair play to him I did sneak into his house at night hehe, then the town guard guy always started running after me when he saw me. completed the quests I could and got the hell out of there :))

Are you stealing from their house? That turns them hostile. Sometimes you can go into an adjacent room and wait until they're out of sight before you loot the contents of their life's savings. Not that I'd know anything about that.

YOU CAN'T PROVE ANYTHING! I WANT MY LAWYER! DIE, COPPERS!

(Er, sorry. I'm switching between this game and the APB beta).

Loving this game. Playing a spellcaster is easier than playing a rogue, though. Much easier. Loved Book I, too. Still very difficult, though.

A user error in a game? If a user can produce a crash by using the UI, there's something wrong with the game, not with the user.

He probably did't mean the crash but the thing with chosing a female char and having it end up using male sprite graphics.

I haven't tried it yet, am planning on it though. Has a nice old-school look to it.

Played the demo. It's pretty good. I enjoyed it. Didn't encounter any bugs.

Unsound logic - could also be something wrong with the user's computer. Perhaps try reporting the bug if you care.... you've posted twice here so you definitely have the time!

Each to their own - just wanted to counter-balance your perspective with my own... I've been playing a lot of EB2 and have yet to experience a single bug, crash or otherwise.

YMMV of course.

Tried it in the demo mode.

Made a female character and ingame the avatar had the male sprite/model. Game crashed when I tried to open the character sheet.

Not sure what to make of this... I've made Male + Female chars and seen no such chicanery... I'd suggest user error as the first place to check.

Not sure about the game crash, none experienced here either.

Note: Not a fanboy, just didn't have the same experience so bluntly reported above.

I am a fan of these games and recently purchased Book II. It does seem to have a lot of improvements over the first one, including the implementation of many user recommendations. Certainly a good game for those interested in classic RPGs, although it retains the difficulty that comes with such games. The demo is worth checking out if you're on the fence about trying it.

It is a great recreation of pnp hex based games from the 1980's and early rpgs from the late eighties and early nineties.

The story is pretty good. The game uses light very well.

The engine can complicate things such as requiring you to carry and use water and food, and it is very flexible. It is single player and single person party. Perhaps isolated is good word to describe the game play.

I was surprised by the quality of the art. Download and check it out.
