Mac Steam Client

The Steam Website now offers the promised Mac Steam client, along with a number of games that can be purchased and played on both Macs and Windows PCs. There is also an updated Windows Steam client, and the change list for that follows.

Win32 side support for Steam Play / Steam Cloud integration with upcoming Mac titles
Fix a regression causing Steam to fail if installed in a path with non-ascii characters
Fix to grant achievements based on stat progress if progress is 100% but the achievement was not previously granted
Fix a case where opt-in free games like the Counter-Strike: Source Beta would not appear in the library view until installed.

The client itself runs great. Games: So far it is just most of the indy games on Steam, Portal, and Civ. Civ and Portal run great. I don't own any of the Indy games on Steam so I can't comment on those. Oh and Torchlight, but I don't own that either so can't say how it runs. This is on a 2007 MacBook Pro 17". T7800 Core2Duo@2.6GHz, 4gigs PC5400, GeForce 8600M GT 256MB. Running at the laptops native 1920x1200. They said they are adding new games each Wednesday so here is hoping for LFD or TF2 next week
